the weekend with Mr. and
Mrs, Irvine Eedy were their
family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Eedy and family of Mississ-
auga, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ott
and family of Kitchener and
Allan and Martha Bassence
of Stratford.
Mrs. Hugh Crockett, Meg-,.,.
an and Jason of Pickering
spent the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Wif Pentland. On
Sunday the family treated.
Wif and Marj to a Thanks-
giving dinner at the White
Carnation. Mrs. Margaret
Pritchard of Toronto, who
was staying with her brbther,
Frank Pentland, also attend-
ed the dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Marsh

Jones on Monday.

Thanksgiving holiday with
her parents, Lloyd and Doris
Hodges.

St. Helens, Rick Godfrey and.
friend, Leslie Bird of North-.
ern Ontario, were home for
the weekend with their par-
ents, Howard and Marlene
Godfrey.
Mr. " Ray — Errington of
Venice, Florida, who . "is.
spending some time visiting
in Canada with his daugh-
ters, Patricia Errington of St.
Catharines and eldest daugh-
ter, Mrs. Faye Lellynston,
Picton, called on his. sister,
Lill McDonald one ' day last
week.
Mrs: Inez Howe of Cultes
spent the weekend with Lil
McDonald and spent some
time visiting with Frank
Moulton, who is a patient in
Wingham Hospital after be-
ing taken by ambulance the
previous Sunday.
Mr, and Mrs. Ross Mc-
Donald of Ottawa spent . the
weekendwith his mother,
Mrs. Lil McDonald. Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Moulton visited
on Sunday, then called on his
father, Frank at Wingham
Hospital.
The McWhinney family.
were all home with their
mother, Mrs. Willetta Mc-
Whinney for Thanksgiving.
Hugh was missing as he has
been a patient \in Goderich
Hospital since Friday with
chest pains.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Emer-
son of Queensville called on
their daughter, Mrs. Lynn
Wall on Monday and visited
in Wingham Hospital with
their grandson, Tom.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Brind-
ley and family spent Thanks-
giving with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Donald McEwan at
Kinlough on Sunday.
Ross Brindley accompan-
ied several Kinloss area
hunters, namely Dunca
Ewan, Art Stanley, Del Stan-
ley, Red Stanley a Allan
Rhody, moose hunting in the
Dryden area. The men left
Sunday night for two weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hallam
of Auburn called on, her
mother, Mrs. Tom Purk on
Sunday.
TURKEY SHOOT
A shooting match sponsor-
ed by the Dungannon .125th
birthday committee was held
at Culbert's pit on Saturday,
October 6th. Spirits were not
dampened by the rain as the
rather small turnout stayed
to make the shoot successful,
with a total of 19 turkeys
being won by 15 different
contestants.
John and. Maylin Bere,
Karen and David of London,
visited Mrs, Mary Bere for
the weekend. John and Ka-
thie Stanbury, Gerry and An-
nette Bere and David and
Dorothy Bere visited on Sun-
day.
David and Dorothy Bere,
accompanied by Ron and
Barb Snowden of St. Helens
visited Brad and Betty Lewis
in Kitchener on the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blake,
Becky, Kara and . Julie of
Cambridge and Beth 'Mc-
Connell. had Thanksgiving
dinner on Saturday with Mrs.
Cecil Blake. On Sunday,
Miss Beulah Long of Benmil
ler and Mr, and Mrs. Palmer'
Kilpatrick of Agincourt were
dinner guests.
Janet Godfrey went with
her grade 11 class camping
at Tobermory last week.
Tom Wall is a patient in
Wingham Hospital after be-
ing admitted on Friday even-
ing. He is suffering from a
perforated ulcer.: He is ex-
pected to be there a week or
10 days.
DUNGANNON
UNITED CHURCH
Thechurch.was beautifully
decorated by the Willing
Workers with harvest sam-
ples. Mr. George Cowan
spoke on "Giving Thanks".
The choir sang "He's Got the
Whole World in His Hands",
led by organist, Mrs. Jean
Elliott. t
At the close of the service,
Mr. Cowan sang a solo,
"How Great Thou Art",
accompanied on the organ by
his son, Ken Cowan. This is
his mother's favourite hymn
and he sang it as a present
for 'her 93rd birthday. Mrs.
Cowan Sr. was present to
hear it and on Sunday after-
noon . the Cowans were At
Home to friends and well
wishers of Mrs. Cowan, who -
was baptized in the Dungan-
non church 93 years ago.
BROOKSIDE BROADCAST.

Grade one cTalss went to
Goderich Airport on Wed-
nesday with their teacher,
Mrs. Wilson and volunteer
aide, Mrs. Irene Markham.
They enjoyed their tour and
on their return composed this
chart story: "Grade One
went to Goderich Airport.
We saw two Learjets, the
pilot, the paint shop, and the
weather station. Mrs. Fink
let us sit in the Learjet and
look in the cockpit. She put
our hands on the Xerox and a
picture of our hands came
out: John let us see the
Chipmunk plane at the paint
shop. We saw.. two weather
balloonsup in the sky."
Grade one cooked pump-
kin and helped Mrs. Wilson
make pumpkin pies which
they enjoyed for lunch on
Friday, along with hot dogs.
Mrs. Cameron's grade one
and two class enjoyed a
smorgasbord lunch on Frid-
day of fruits and vegetables
they had brought.
SOCCER
On October 5 a soccer
tournament between schools
was held in Goderich which
Brookside teams 'participat-
ed. The junior teams played
at Victoria School, the senior
girls 'it Robertson School,
and tthe senior boys' at the
Agricultural Park. Although
Brookside did not win any
pennants they ' had a lot of
fun and enjoyed the day.
DUNGANNON W.I.
The October meeting of
Dungannon W.I. was held
Thursday evening, October
4, at the home of Mrs. Elmer
Black. All were welcomed by
the president, Mrs. Geo.
Errington:: Mrs. Harry Girvin
secretary -treasurer gave her
report. Mrs. Graham McNee
explained how part of the
money from the Ploughing
Match is to be, used for
Family Services program.
plans were made to takea
program to Pinecrest Nurs-
ing Home in Lucknow for
their birthday party Tuesday,
Octobeir 23. Mr's. Cecil Blake
reported for the Dungannon
Area Cancer canvasss and
thanked the volunteer wait-
ers. $293 was given to the
Lucknow Branch, and this is
$20 increase over last year's
gifts. Thanks to all who
worked or gave for this
worthy cause.
The theme of the meeting
was Resolutions and Mrs.
Warren Zinn, convener, in-
troduced her guest speaker,
George Brophy, lawyer, from
Lucknow. He explained the
Family Law Reform Act and
Wills. Mrs. W. Zinn fittingly
thanked the speaker, and
Mrs. G. Errington gave cour-
tesy remarks.
