Mr. and Mrs. Eric Evans of Hyde Park visited on Sunday with his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Evans. Mrs. Mary McClenaghan on Monday was admitted to Victoria Hospital, London, where she will have a cataract removed from her eye. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin on Friday attended the Ploughing Match at Chat- ham. Nat Thompson was a caller on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson as at the beginning of the week he enters Victoria Hospital. Little 'Kevin Rintoul visited •with • his grandpar- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rintoul. We are pleased to report that Miss Myrtle Beecroft 'was able to leave hospital last Thursday and return to Brookhaven Nursing Home. Little Kevin Beecroft, son of Ronald Beecroft, last week spent four days in University Hospital, returning home on Sunday without the infection being' diagnosed. •After visiting a few days. with Mr. and Mrs. Donald • Gaunt at Chatham, Mr. and • Mrs. Bill.Purdon arrived home on Monday. Mary MacKinnon enjoyed' a tour to Montreal and Queb- ec City on her holidays. Margaret MacIntyre was home from Hamilton for the weekend. Weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Dick McQuiltin and Ron were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morrison of Willowrlale and Gordon McQuillin of Sarnia. Stocker Sale At the October I stocker sale held at the Lucknow Sales Barns, 360 cattle were sold. 21 heifer calves, averaging 388 lbs. were sold by Bob McIntosh to Wim de Boer at 51 per lb, 13 steers, averaging 515 lbs. were sold to Joe Foran by James Finleon of Wawa - nosh at 99%c. Nine Charolais steers aver- aging 920 lb, sold at 87.10c. They were sold to Bert Cun- ningham. Carlow by Allan RhOdy. Seven Charolais heifers, averaging 875 went for 77.75 andwere sold to Gordon Stewart, Ripley by Peter Edisbury. Gross sales for the day were 5202,000. You. Mrs. Victor Emerson gave readings by Smiley, on How to Wreck a Marriage and by Gordon Green, on the Wedding Ceremony. Mrs. BM Gibson, Mrs. Ivan Laid- law, Mrs. Don Ross and Mrs. Dave Gibb sang, Morning Has Broken and Snow White Dove. Mrs. Falconer invited the shower party, Shelley St. Marie, Sherry Bradley and Laurie Purdon to the plat- form, Assisting with the gifts -- were Karen Elliott, Kendra Purdon, Jayne Phillips and Clara Milligan and others. The mothers made a sash of bows. Among the gifts were towels and sheets, mixer, –crystal set, pillow cases, an ironing board, toastmaster, iron and chinaware.
