Honoured on 40 ye:ars in the Brotherhood
Brother Carl Voll recently
celebrated his fortieth anni-
versary in the Brotherhood
and was guest of honour at a
family gathering, hosted by
his eldest brother and family.
A Mass of Thanksgiving at
Ressurection College was
offered by the Provincial
Superior and all of the adult
relatives took part in the
Liturgy a the Mass. Dinner
was held at the Stone Crock
Restaurant, St. Jacobs, fol-
lowed by a reception at
Brother's nephew, Harry
Wall's home, Slides were
shown and lunch served,
followed by the presentation
of a rocker recliner.
On Saturday evening,
September 29, Father Mike
Myronuik said mass in hon-
our of Brother Carl. The
mass intention was from
Miss Hilda Kennedy: The
Rosary was led by the
Knights of Columbus and
C.W.L. members. Offertory
was taken up by members of
Brother's family and himself.
Thesermon was on the
Brotherhood. Following
mass, everyone gathered in
the hall for a celebration
hosted by $t. Joseph's, Cath-
olic Women's League. Many
friends and relatives from
Waterloo, Stratford, and all
of, the local towns and
villages attended.. Brother
Carl's brothers, Mr. and
Mrs. Alfred Voll, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Voll, Mrs. Laur-
ine Lienhardt from St, Clem-
ents and his sister, Mrs.
Baptize South Kinloss infant

Mowbray and Duncan visited
on Sunday with Dr. and Mrs:
Bill Buckton, Donald and
George of Waterloo.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Mac-
Dougall and family attended
the plowing match in Chat-
ham on Saturday and then
visited with Donald Kirkland
in Kingsville and Larry Boyd
in Sarnia.

Margaret Lienhardt from
Waterloo presented him with
a gift of a house coat,
pyjamas and slippers to
match. Father Dentinger
gave a talk in appreciation
and Pat Howard presented
Brother Carl with a gift of
luggage from St. Joseph's
Lucknow and St.
Augustine Leagues also gave
generous gifts. Brother Carl
received an electric razor
from the Youth Club, a huge
tropical plant from the
Knights of Columbus, and
many other numerous and
useful gifts.
Brother Carl explained
about his life as a Brother
and the different services he
has performed. In September
1939, he was a porter and
sacristan at North Bay Col-
lege. On December 7, '1940,
Brother became a cook at St.
Thomas Scholasticate where
he spent. twenty, years.. In
1960, he went to St. Peter's
House, Brantford, where he
was housekeeper and cook
for four C.R. teachers at St.
John's College. In 1962,
Brother Carl was off to the
C.R. Novitiate at Dundas as
cook for the Postulants and
Novices until 1969. Then it
was back to London as cook
for the Novitiate group and
the Seminarians until 1972,
when he was called to Kings-
bridge June 26, 1972. Broth-
er Carl entertained his .
friends with some homorous
stories about his flops and
explosions in cooking. The
evening was enjoyed by all.
