lake, has left the club
finances a little short, so
the finance committee
will be meeting to figure
out ways of making some
money in the coming

William Steer, former
resident of Ripley and
now residing in the
Pinecrest Nursing Home
in •Lucknow. On Tuesday
of last week, Sept. 18, Bill
celebrated his 92nd birth-
day. Among those.

Brad • and Mrs. Carol
(Donnie) Fludder,
Tammy and Jason all of
Ripley. At noon Mrs.
Mary • Fludder ac-
companied by Mrs. Fran
Wylds took Bill to the
West. End Restaurant in
Lucknow for a birthday
dinner whicithe enjoyed.
Bill received a -number of
cards and gifts to mark
this happy occasion. It
was back in 1907 that Bill
• arrived here from his
native Londoh, England
to work for :the late
Duncan Campbell on the
10th concession 'of Huron.
Since then he has served
in both World Wars, was
a foreman in the Ford
Dearborn factory in
Detroit, worked in •the
Amberley area, owned a
•.farm in Ashfield and then
• a house in Ripley, worked
with OntarioHydro in,
Northern Ontario before
corning to help at the
Thompson Nursing Home
in Ripley. His many
friends. in this.area send.

Russell Collins passed
away in Kincardine and
District Hospital last
Wednesday, September
19, 1979 -in -his 69th year.
Son of the late Charles
Collins and Joanne
McDonald, he was born
on April 9, 1911. A former
member of the Huron
Townshig Council, Russ
lived on the farm on the
Huron Kincardine
boundary in the first
block in the north east
corner of *Huron town-
ship.
The funeral • service
was conducted by Rev.
Robert S. Clyde of Bervie
on Friday afternoon at
the MacKenzie McCreath
Funeral Home, in Ripley
followed by interment in
Ripley Cemetery,
Sympathy is extended
to his family namely his
wife the former Dorothy
Robertson, his three sons .
Roy of the 12th con-
cession east in Huron',
Arthur of the Kincardine
Huron boundary,
Carl of Calgary. and his
daughter Eileen of
Crossfields, Alberta, and
nine grandchildren. Also
surviving are his brother
Walter of the 12th. con-
cession east, and two
sisters, Mrs. Ruth
Colwell of Toronto, and
Margaret, Mrs. Harry
Graham of Kincardine.
