summer vacations in
Ripley when he was a

to say that beekeeping
with 100 hives is one of his
hobbies. He also has
cottages and is a top
horticulturist. In this
area ,he has several
cousins. Some are Mrs.

Another newspaper

received, from William
Robertson of Toronto. It
was one from a July or
August edition of the
Ripley Express in 1920.
At that time the Express
was publishedand
printed in Ripley by the
late George H. Mooney.
This clipping gives the

75 per cent or better were
classed as Honours and

was necessary to write
and pass these exams
sent out for all of Bruce
County before one could
enter the Ripley Con-
tinuation School or a high
school elsewhere.
Students who had
finished the Senior
Fourth work (Grade 8) in
the different schools in

mer. On Wednesday and

the ` two railway
crossings. At this time
traffic had to detour.
Never did so many cars
and trucks use the road
through the Huron and
Kinloss Telephone Pole
Yard and not likely for
yegrs to come. This
presented a real maze
problem for motorists'
going or coming from the
east, as they had to turn
through the yard and then
go along the one to the
Ripley Grain Elevator
parallel to the railway
track. The Pole Yard is
the lot where, in years
gone, the late Davey
McLay had his garden
located just north of the
Ripley Grain Elevator.
