prayer.
The Court was constituted
for the business of the day.
Mrs. M. Slade gave the
report on the induction ser-
vices held: Rev. W. King,
Chesley; Rev, Jas., Reid,
Underwood; Rev. Robt. Mc-
Crae, Hartiston; and an-
nounced the forthcoming in-
duction of Rev. R. Cowieson
for October 14, 7 p.m. in
Tara United Church.
Mrs. Annamae Simington
welcomed us to the Camp
The fall general meeting of
the Lucknow U.C.W. was
held September 18th in the,
fellowship room of the
church. Mrs. Len Ritchie
• welcomed all present and
read a poem.
Mrs.. Cliff Menary, •con-
vener of Stewardship, took
the chair and gave a thought
on Stewardship. Mrs. Harv-
ey Houston presided at the
piano, The scripture was
read by Mrs. Eldon Ritchie.
Mrs. Glen Walden gave a
paper on stewardship in
action and led in ..prayer.
Mrs. Edna McDonald gave a
reading entitled "I Am A Per
Cent". Mrs. Symon de Boer
favoured with a solo, "How
Great Thou Art". The offer-
• ing was received by Mrs.
Glen Walden and Mrs. Mrs.
Edna McDonald and dedicat-
ed by Mrs. Menary.
Miss Kay Morrison gave

met at the Wingham sibie
Chapel September 10.
A Birthright organization
is set up in the Wingham
area. Birthright is a pro-life
philosophy to offer help and
• advice to pregnant and dis-
tressed women and girls.
Services which can be
provided include, a pregnan-
cy test, financial help, a
place to stay, assistance in
finding a doctor,, professional
medical or legal advice,
clothing, etc, or just someone
to talk to. Our local Birth-
right contacts are: Mrs.
Herman (Cory) De Bruyn, R..
an interesting talk on her
C.G.LT. Camping experi-
ence this summer and thank-
ed the U.C.W. for making it
possible for her to go.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by the
recording secretaiy, Mrs.
Ernest Ackert, and adopted.
The roll call was given by
units. The fowl supper was
discussed and will be held
October 16 with the price to
be $4.50 for adults and $2.00
for children. Mrs. Jardine
asked for some guidance on
who -the special occasion
committee was to remember.
Mrs. Eldon Bradley spoke on
the Mennonite craft show at
Brookside School October 25.
Thank you notes were read
by the bereavement commit-
tee and the corresponding
secretary.

national co-ordinating body

in Canada had its annual
meeting in Vancouver, B.C.
at the end •of June.
The meeting was held on
conjunction with "The Child
In His World", a three-day
seminar held at the Univer-
sitY of B.C. campus, sponsor-
ed by the Pro -Life Society of
British Columbia,

services in Huron. She spoke
on " Child Abuse; the emo-
tional abuse can be more
severe than physical abuse.
She showed slides on a film
"A chain to be broken".
Question and answer period
followed. Mrs. Eldon Ritchie
thanked the speaker and
presented her with a gift.

need for the co-operation of
alt congregations of Bruce
Presbytery to interest young-
sters to attend this summer
facility.
The four committees met
and re -convened to give the
findings of their groups. A
full report was given by
Oversight of Pastoral Charg-
es.
Rev. W. A. Leeman, Arth-
ur, had charge of the after-
noon devotions on Train "A
Child in the Way He Should
Go, followed by prayer.
Congregational Life and
Work had as their. theme,
The Year of the Child, and a
presentation was given of
what is being accomplished
in Bruce Presbytery under
this theme. It was stressed in
all the controversy that we as
christians have a personal
responsibility in this train-
ing.
Finance and Stewardship
includes the treasurer's re-
port; work of Mission and
Service and World Mission
Outreach.
Communications reported
on the Film Board libraryand
Sing Time programs. A reso-
lution was presented, then
discussed and passed, to be
sent to the National Bbard.
• Rev. J. Stockton gave the
report of the Nominating
Committee. Mrs. Lois Curtis
gave the courtesies of the
clay and the meeting adjourn-
ed bringing to a close the
lenkthy but interesting ses-
sion.
