From a child's eye
BY DOROTHY SIMPSON
CHILDRENS AID SOCIETY
Abuse, neglect and mental,
anguish can be hard on a
child. The understanding of
what is happening to them
from someone who has abus-
ed them physically or sexu-
ally. The child can only feel
they are wrong and will
begin to except violence as a
means of life. -
The child is the one who
suffers the most in any
situation. They cannot reas-
on out the problems and if
they are; removed from the
home can only see it as
another punishment directed
towards them.
The child has come to trust
and believe the authority
figure they are living with.
The confusion for the child
begins when that figure is
questioned.
As the child is removed
from .the home and placed in
a different family atmosph-
ere they can begin to witness
a new form °Hove. It is even
hard for an adult to -adjust to
the fact that someone you
care about is being unfair to
you.
