After their return home they jour- neyed to Toronto with their son and his girl friend to celebrate Mrs. Str'aker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rollings' 46th, anniversary. On their return to Whitechurch Mrs. Rollings came with them for a week's holiday. Mrs. Straker and Mrs. Rollings on Sunday at- tended church service at Chalmers Presbyterian Church, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Empey of Auburn were Sunday visitors with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ron Coultes. On Saturday, Mrs. Mayme Caslick of Brookhaven Nursing Home visited, with her daughter Mrs. Ron Coultes and Mr. Coultes. Attending kindergarten at Lucknow School for this year are Timmy Falconer, Stanley Kikkert and Dale Hut- chison. The WtL bake sale and tea which was to have been held Saturday Sept. 15 has been postponed until Saturday, Sept. 22 so as not to collide with Lucknow Fair. . Whitechurch 4-H Club held their first meeting of the Needlepoint Project on Saturday Sept. 9 at the home of Mrs. Archie Purdon. The meeting opened with the 4-11 Pledge. The election of officers were: President Janet Laidlair; Vice Pres. - Kendra Purdon; Press Reporter - Clara Milligan. All take a turn at being secretary. The • next meeting will be Sept. 22 at the home of Mrs.. Walter Elliott at 9 o'clock. Members of the club are Clara Milligan, Janet Laidlaw, Lorie Pur don, Kendra Purdon, Lori Jamxeson, Marilyn Jamieson, Mary Moore, Cora Blom, Cecelia Chandler and Karen Beecroft. Mrs. Purdon outlined the course the Club Covers and told of equipment needed, Mrs. Elliott discussed the canvaA and wood. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Crowston of Chatham spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. Clara Crowston of Lucknow, Mr. and Mrs. Orland Irwin at their new house. Kimberley and Amy Farrier of Guelph recently spent the weekend with their grandmother Mrs. Agnes Farrier. • Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Turner of Ottawa, Mr. ' and Mrs. Jack Gillespie and Mr. and Mrs. Rick West all of Sarnia at- tended. the Gillispie- Wilson wedding in Teeswater United Church on Friday last and visited with Mrs. Agnes Farrier. Mrs. John Bell on Wednesday last ac- companied Walkerton Evening Women's Institute to Stratford to attend the \ play - The Importance of• Being Earnest. Miss Winnifred Farrier and Mrs. Carman Farrier of Toronto were Saturday visitors with Mrs. Agnes Farrier. On Thursday Mrs. Bill Purdon and Mrs. George Webster accompanied St. Helen's Women's Institute on their tour to the Erland Lea Home and other places. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Collins of Bad Axe, Michigan on Wednesday visited with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. There will be no church in the United Church next Sunday Sept. 16 as it .is Anniversary Service at Bluevale United. The following Sunday Sept. 23 is communion Sunday Johnston Bros. Quite a few from Whitechurch attended the,, 20th Wedding Anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bur - chili at Belmore Hall on Saturday evening. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Huffman of Lucan visited with Mr. and Mrs.. Donald Morrison and family and called on Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin. On Wednesday last Mrs. Irwin and Mrs. Bolt and Kenneth.. Purvis of Mitchell Were visitors with Miss Anne Kennedy. Paul Elliott and baby Jeffery of Brussels were Sunday visitors with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott. Last week Mr. and Mrs. Bili Rintoul visited with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell at Kitchener. Bill- and Gordon attended the Wiarton sales, arriving home on Friday. Attending the Gillespie - Wilson wedding and presentation, on Friday, at Teeswater were 'Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Durnin, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Laidlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Schultz, Goderich, Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Simmons, London. Visitors on Sunday, with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rintoul were Mr. and Mrs. Gary Rintoul and Kevin, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy • Rintoul, Carol, Kimberley and Debbie, Bradford; ThiS community last Weekend were happy to have Mr, and Mrs. Schack open their store and restaurant in the village. It was very in- convenient to have no store in the village, where at one time there were three stores. Wilkins Garage helped out when there was no store by. keeping bread, milk and butter.
