Today, Wed., Aug. 22,
1979, Jon Vickers, world
famous .Canadian opera
tenor, native of Prince
Albert, Saskatchewan
will sing at the funeral
service of the late Rt.

former Hetty Outer -

the former Tena Martyn,

and principal of the
Ripley Continuation

several relatives in this
area. At one time Mr. and
Mrs. Vickers resided in
the Martyn home known
as Bernhardt just west of
the old Ripley Public

Ripley folks are glad to
learn that Gord Harris of
Kincardine and former
native of the 12th con-
cession, Huron Township,
'is recovering from
surgery last Friday
morning in the Owen
Sound General and
Marine Hospital. His
mother Mrs. Evelyn
Johnson and her husband
Jack Johnson of Ripley
have been looking . after
the home in Kincardine
and . travelling back and
forth to the Owen Sound
Hospital during the past
week. We hope for Gord's
continued recovery on his
return home.
Early on Tuesday
morning . of ,last week

from a week's vacation in

which they enjoyed. The
air down there was dry
and hot. The lowest
temperature was 80
degrees early one
morning while the
highest ; --daytime tem-
perature was 107 on the
Fahrenheit scale. On one
bus tour in the city they
were . shown the lovely

last week's fall -like

change requir'eg some
adjustment.
