at the beach and take trips to interesting
places. Some of the crafts include candle
making, paper tube figures, paper mache,
sand painting, making mobiles and they
attended the Craft Caravan workshop at
Holyrood two weeks ago, when they did clay
casting.
They have held a weiner roast, been to
Point Farms to swim, visited Story Book
Gardens and toured CKNX. One afternoon
therenjoyed a pizza party. This week they
mill visit the Grand Bend Zoo and Heritage
Museum.
• .The children also enjoy the video tapes
• made available through the TV Ontario
Vision On series which are •shown on the
school's closed circuit television.
The •playground program is also good
experience for children who begin school in
the fall. It's an orientation for them.

Theparentsare pleased with the program'
says Ms. Dalton. They feel their children are
well supervised and they are enjoying an
active summer. For children who live on
farms the program isa way of spending time,
with other children. •
It's also beneficial for working mothers
who use the program as child-care whilethey
work.
Ms. :Dalton also noted cottagers who are
vacationing in the area are enrolling their
children for the time they will be there. The
program is flexible because parents can pay.

Use. Joanne will be studying industry and
tOurisin at Sheridan College in the fall and
Frances:will be returning to high school. It is.
excellent job experience for them:
• Joanne attended the. Lake. Huron. Zone.
Recreation Association leadership program
in June to qualify , as instructor of the
program and she also has her instructor's
and life guard qualificatiens in sliMming.
Frances has taken the St. John's Ambulance
Life Saving 'Course.
With the ready access to the beach near
the school the children can go swimming and
their instructors are qualified to supervise
them in the water.
There is no compulsion to come every day
but the program is here says Ms, Dalton.
"It's an opportunity they might not get
otherwise."

• The children of Lucknow and surrounding
area are invited to attend Vacation Bible
School at the Lucknow Christian Reformed
Church. The Vacation Bible School begins
Monday, August 27th and runs through to
August 31st, from 94,15 till 11.45 a.m.
The theme this year is God's Word: Your
• Door To Adventure. Bible study, Bible
learning' projects, new and cafchy songs,
refreshments' and crafts will help the
children to explore the exciting possibilities
presented by the theme.
Mrs. Barbara Van Staalduinen is 'the
director again this year and she may be
contacted at 528-2547 for further informa-
tion. Last summer she said a. large number
of children did not attend due to swimming
•'lessons, This year please feet free to send
your children after their class is over, even if.
it is only for part of the morning; or they can
be dismissed .early in order to attend their
class.

8.00 p.m. Colourful posters are up in the
