The Lucknow Agricultural Society held
their ninth annual Craft Festival last Friday
and Saturday .in the Lucknow. Arena. A good
crowd was in attendance despite other
activities in nearby towns.
Many craftsmen reported better' than
average, sales. One crafter left at the supper
• hour thefirst day to work during the -night to
replenish her stock for the next day:'
The displays, set up by the craftsmen,
were some of the best in the past nine years.
The Kairshea W.I.. looked after the booth
and sold meals. on Friday, while Holyrood
W.I. catered to the people on Saturday.
Many craftsmen donated prizes for the
free draws. Donor and winners were as

Wingham met to form a committee to .look
int the resources, available in the congre-
gation to sponsor a refugee family from
Southeast Asia. The committee which plans
to meet Wednesday will approach the parish
membeto."explore whether it will be
feasible te4epport a refugee or a family of
refugees. ,
, The cohimittee will be looking for housing,
jobs, people who may help with language
difficulties the refugees will.have, people to
meet the refugees at the airport and other
support which will be necessary.

Storm damage
Rain, long awaited to end a . dry
spell, came in a storm which flattened
grain and uprooted corn last Wed-
nesday night. A field of grain on the
farm of Russ Ritchie, Kinloss, was
severely damaged: Picture on page 4.

the Lucknow Craft Festival. The display was a collection of handmade Christmas crafts made
by three sisters formerly of this area, Clockwise from the upper left are: Eleanor Kraemer,
Toronto, Veronica McCarter, Wallaceburg. and Elaine Fisher; • Walkerton. They are
daughters of the late Mr. and i Mrs. Alphonse; Murray of Kinloss. Their family holds
Christmas the first weekend In December'mid the three ladte$ make handtnade gifts which
can be used through the Christmas season, They decided to make a collection of ill the gifts
and decorations they have made over the past years and bring it to the Lucknow Craft
