continuefor year. Barry Wenger, publisher of the Wingham Advance Times won a
weekend trip for two'. in a city in Southwestern Ontario in the same draw.. Harvey Webster,

Camerons hold tea
for Pinecrest residents

Many outings in the Nurs-
ing Horne van were enjoyed
in July:
On July 3 Margaret and
Don Cameron held a tea and
open house forthe residents
and staff of Pinecrest Manor.
The residents who were at
the Open House Were Aub-
rey Higgins, Wm. Steer,
Mary Woolnough,. Belle
(Mary) MacKinnon, Jim
Smith, Iva Young, John
Hartwick, Etta Cook, Lloyd
Irwin and .Gordon Steele.
Eldon Miller and Susan
Moffat were there to greet us
and helped Margaret serve
lunch to all of us. She has
such a lovely home and we
enjoyed having the chalice to
see -Jt ...and have lunch with
Qn July 12, eight residents
enjoyed a picnic on the lawn
of Bob and Lois Mclntosh's
home. The weather was
humid and everyone enjoyed
being outside and seeing
Lois' lovely rose garden.
On July 27 the residents
travelled in the van to Am-
berley, Kingsbridge and
home by the ninth of Ash-
field. We were glad that Joe
MacMillan was feeling well
enough again to come with
us.
On July 3rd the Roman
BhI.• reunionheld
in Hanover
The tenth annual Burt
reunion and picnic was held
Saturday, July 21, 1979 at 2
p.m. at the park in Hanover
with 48 attending.
Mr. Chas. Burt, who was
91 in January, was unable to
attend. Members of the
family visited their father at
the Brucelea Haven, Walker-
ton.
Guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Stan Earson, Joe and. Rose-
mary, Sheila Calvin,London,
Mrs. Marjorie Bardley, Ajax,
Mrs. Myrtle Harris, Mr. and
Mrs. Bob Small, Hanover,
and Cheryl Mitchell, Aylmer,
who joined the members of
the immediate family, grand-
children and great grand-
children who were present
from Toronto, London, St.
Thomas, Oshawa, Victoria,
Whitby, Innerkip, Cobourg,
Mount Forest, Elmwood,
Kincardine and Holyrood.
After a very pleasant after-
noon, Bill Burt asked the
blessing and everyone enjoy-
ed a bountiful meal.
A short meeting followed
with president Edith Collins
presiding. Everyone was
welcomed. Helen MacMillan
read the minutes of the last
reunion. Eileen Sceli was
elected president and Keith
Priest was elected secretary
treasurer -for the 1980 picnic.
Sports committee for next
year is Tom Haskett and
Harold McKnight; lunch
committee is Bob and Rose
Burt and Ann and Bern
Norris. '
All agreed to meet July 19,
1980 at 2 p.m: at the Hanover
Park for the eleventh annual
Burt reunion.

t museum exhibit
Four Lucknow, ladies,
members of the Lucknow
Women's Institute, particip-
ated in a quilting exhibition
`at the Bruce County Museum
in Southampton on Thurs-
day, July 26.
Mrs. A. J. Wilson, Mrs,
"Ti don Ritchie, Mrs. Jim
McNaughton and Mrs. Wes -
Catholic residents held their
communion in the activity
room.
Also Lorna and'. Lois held a
birthday party for their moth-
er, 'Selina Hunter, and Iva
Young that afternoon.
Margaret MacLennan .cel-
ebrated her 90th birthday on
July 11th and her family held
a birthday party for her in the
activity room.
On July 9th the ladies of
the Lucknow. Christian Re-
formed Church held their
monthly bingo.
Tommy Gilmore came to
entertain on July 10. He did
his baton routine which won
him the Canadian Champion-
ship and played two piano
solos.
We held our monthly
birthday party for thethree
ladies mentioned above, on
July 24.
Blanche Needham came to
entertain. We had a sing
song and then enjoyed cake
and juice while she played
t`or us.
Don't forget to visit with
the residents:' Even though
you get busy with your gard-
ens, holidays etc.,their.
hours are just as long and
lonesome. -
Special mention is made
here for the Ashfield Trinity
UCW ladies who have adopt-
ed residents as their sun-
shine sisters or brothers..
They send cards to residents
who do not have any close
relatives or friends and visit
with .them.

Entitled "A Stitch - in
Time", the exhibition in the
Krug Section of the museum
is a dynamic display devel-
oped for the museum's own
collection of quilts. The
exhibit features ladies from
the county who come to the
museum to demonstrate the
art of quilting.
The show runs from. July
21 until September 3 during
regular museum hours. The
following article traces the
history of quilting,past and
present and appeared in the
July edition of the : Bruce
County Museum Newsletter.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN thatapplication has been made for approval to
expropriate the lands described as follows: ALL ANDSINGULARthose certain parcels
'or tracts of land situate, lying and being. in the Township of Kinloss, in the County of
Bruce, more particularly described as follows:
1. Part of Lot 20, Range 2, S. D. R., more particularly described as Part 1 on Reference.
Plan 3R-2434;
2. Part of Lot 19, Range 2, S. D. R., more particularly described as Parts 2 and 3 on
3. Part of Lots 18 and f9, Range 2, S. D. R., more particulary described as Part 4 on
Reference Plan 3R-2434;
4. Part of Lots 206, 207, 208 and 209, Registered Plan 240, more particularly described
as Part 7 on Reference Plan 3R-2434;

Any owner of lands in respect of which notice is given who desires an inquiry into
whether the takingof such land is fair, sound and reasonably necessary in the
achievement of the objective of the expropriating authority shall so notify the
approving authority in writing,
(a) in thecase of a registered owner, served personally or by registered mail within
thirty days after he is served with the notice, or, when he is served by .publication;
within thirtydays after the first publication of the notice;
(b) in the case of an owner who is nota registered owner, within thirty days after the
first publication of the notice.

NOTES:
1, The Expropriation Act provides that:
(a) where an inquiry is requested, it shall be conducted by an inquiry officer appointed
by the Minister of Justice and Attorney General;
(b) the inquiry officer,
(i) shall give every party to the inquiry an opportunity to present evidence and
argument and to examine and cross-examine witnesses, either personally or by his
counsel or agent, and
(ii) may recommend to the approving authority that a party to the inquiry be paid a
fixed amount for his costs of the inquiry not to exceed $200.00 and the approving
authority may in its discretion order the expropriating authority to pay such costs
forthwith.
2. "Owner" and "Registered Owner" are defined in the Act as follows:
' "Owner" includes a mortgagee, tenants, execution creditor, a person entitled to a
limited estate or interest in land, a committee of the estate of a mentally
incompetent person or of a person incapable of managing his affairs, and n'
guardian, executor, administrator or trustee in whom land is vested;
"Registered Owner" means an owner of land whose interest in the land is defined
and whose name is specified in an instrument in the proper. Land Registry or
Sheriff's -Office, and -includes a person shown as a tenant of land on the last revised
assessment roll;
3. The expropriating+authority, each owner who notifies the approving authority that
he desires- a hearing in respect of the lands intended. to ,be expropriated and any
owner added as a party by the inquiry officer are parties to the inquiry.
