Mr. and Mrs. Norman Stewart, • Mark, Susan and Heather of Lambeth were callers on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and family. Mr. and Mrs. John L. Currie of Wingham were Sunday afternoon visitors with Mr. and Mist— Victor thierson. Jim Orr of London visited Sunday with Bob and Rich- ard Orr of Langside and attended the Langsidg Cem- etery Anniversary setirice. Jack Whytock was coun- sellor at United Church Camp Menesetung, near Goderich from July 19 to 28. Miss Joyce Tiffin of Tor- onto spend the, weekend with -her parents, Mr. and Mrs,. Dan Tiffin and took her parents and her grandmoth- er, Mrs. Stewart :to South- ampton to visit with her aunt, Cora, Mrs. Yeo, who is selling her house and moving • into an apartment. A shower was held in Wh itechurch Community Meru: mini Hall on Saturday even- ing for Karen Schnitz of Goderich, daughter of Mr. ' and Mrs. Clayton Scholtz. The hostesses who arranged the shower were 'cousins of the bride-to-be. Mrs. How- ard Long was chairlady for a short progiam,-,piano selec- tions by -Mrs. Agnes Farrier, readings by Mrs. Jack Gil- lespie, piano selections, Miss Karen Young and contest by Mrs. Reg. Schultz. Karen thanked everyone for the beautiful gifts and those who arranged the shower. She invited all to come and see her new home in London. A dainty lunch was served. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul were in Kitchener on Sunday to take their grandson, Jef- fery Oberholtier home. He had been visiting them for a few days. Little Michelle Gutoskie returned home with her .grandparents for holi- days. • Mrs. Cassie Mowbray and Tony Falconer accompanied Kevin Falconer to Sarnia on the weekend. Nat Thomson of Lucknow was. a Monday caller on Mr. • and Mrs. Victor Emerson. Mrs. Mack Stewart, Mrs. • Betty Godfrey of Waterloo were Thursday visitors with Mrs. Carl McCienaghan and all visited with Mrs. Dick McQuillin of Lucknow. Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. McQuillin are sisters. • Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Des Roches, Jerry and Stev- en of London were weekend visitors with Mr. and -Mrs. CarlivIcClenaghan and Mrs. • Ben McClenaghan. LANGSIDE MEMORIAL SERVICE Langside Memorial Cern- etery Service was held on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. with a crowd of around 30 in attendance. The service was conducted by Rev. John Bell who opened the service with need for such faith of today's community. The board were congratulated in the upkeep of their cemetery. Philip Steer led the singing and sang a solo, joined in the chorus by the people. The closing hymn was Guide Me 0 Thou Great Jehovah, with Rev. Ball '6'..ving the closing blessing. LANGSIDE CEMETERY MEETING. The Langside Cemetery meeting was held Wednes- day evening, July 25 at 8.30 in Whitechnrch Community Memorial Hall with presid- ent, Bill Evans, opening the meeting with a war** wel- come to all. The secretary, Mrs. Victor Errierson, read the minutes and told of the arrangements for the Memorial Service, to be held at the Cemetery, Sunday, July 29 at 3 p.m., if the weather is favourable, • The treasurer's statement was given by Mrs. Fred Tiffin with a bank balance, some of which will be added to next Bond at Maturity. • It was decided to give caretaker Fred Tiffin $20 for cutting .grass each time. The opening and closing of graves fees was left to under- taker. Mrs. Young and Mrs. Fred Tiffin are to assist Mrs. Emerson to paint the fence.
