Mr. and ;Mrs. Herman de
Bruyn are sponsoring two
refugees from Laos ' who
arrived in Canada July 13.
Hyng Ngoc Dimh, 19 and his
sister, Liey Thi Dimh, .16,
lived in a refugee camp in
Thailand before ,coming- to
Canada to make their home
with the de Bruyn family.
Mrs. Ross Hawkins, and
daughters, Panja Jane, Hil-
ary, Mary Beth. and Karen
recently spent a week with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Herman de Bruyn. Mrs. de
Bruyn's brother, Harry van
der . Hulst visited with them
last week from New Zealand.
He attended the wedding of
his niece, Gemma de Bruyn,
and Orland Levesque, Kap-
askasing in Owen Sound on
July 14. Also attending the
wedding were Mr. and Mrs:
de '`Bruyn and Victor, and
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hawkins
and family of Elgin.
On the 'weeknd Mr. and
Mrs. John Jamieson, Bobbie
and Dale visited with Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Walmsley and
family holidaying at Bobcay-
geon.

pleased to learn that Mrs. D.
Adams returned hbme on
Thursday from Wingham
Hospital.
Mrs. Agnes Farrier return-
ed home on Friday after
visiting last week with Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Gillespie of
Sarnia.

The C.O.C.'held their July
meeting on.. Sunday ' during
church service in the Sunday

in prayer.

read the minutes. They dis-
cussed a picnic to be held
July 30 at Wingham. Roll call

answered by eight members.

July meeting bn Wednesday,
July 18 at the home of „Mrs.
John de -Boer. Mrs. Victor:
Emerson opened the meeting
with a 'poen'. on The House.
Mrs. Don Ross was pianist.
Mrs, Bill Purdon, gave the
opening prayer. Mrs.- Alan
Falconer gave a reading, The
Outstretched Hand. Mrs. Bill
Evans read a poem, Prayer.
The topic, Family Founda-
tions, was given by Mrs. V.
Emerson who stressed the
best' place to go for proper
family foundations is the
Bible:
The topic was followed by
prayer by Mrs. Wesley Tif-
fin. Mrs. R. de Boer gave a
dedicated' by Mrs. ;,Bill Ev-
ans.
The Ladies Aid "meeting
was then held. Material
ready, for the craft festival
was on display. Helpers were
appointed to help.
The meeting closed with
mizpah benediction.
Mr. and Mrs. Elroy. Laid -
law .returned recently from a
holiday in the West. They
travelled by plane from Lon-
don airport to Calgary. They
attended the Calgary Stam-
pede; also took a tour to the
Rocky, Mountains, Banff and
Lake Louise.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laidlaw
of London and Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Ducharme of Goderich
assisted at home while their
parents were away.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul,
accompanied by Mr. and
Mrs. Mac Cardiff of Brus-
sels, on Wednesday last,
went on a motor tour to
Tobermory, crossed on. the
Chi-Cheemaun to. Manitoulin
Island, toured it and came
home by Sudbury and Parry
Sound, arriving home Sun-
day afternoon.
