on doors in. the village and the surrounding
area this week as their Sentinel Subscription
Drive gets into full swing.
The Figure Skating Club will receive S2 for
each new subscription sold and 50c for each
renewal.

the war.
Clarence Greer oflucknow landed on the
• shores of France with the forces who took
part in Operation Overload, the code name
• for the Operation'of the Invasion of Europe.
•He, and George Tervit and Ted Elliott of
• 'Wingham, who served in the 99th artillery
• battery of the 3rd Canadian division return-.
• •ed. to France this June to mark the 35th
•anniversary -of the invasion, •
Eldon Mann, Charles Wilkins and Jim
Hunter from the'Lucknow area also went on
• the same trip called Overload 2. Ceremonies
and services were held 'at the memorials
• 'erected along the beaches where the forces . rac or u

• landed and 'in the war cemeteries and the •
towns along the coast of: France on June 6 •
and 7 to mark the anniversarY.
All of the men were accompanied by their
• wives on • the trip • which • took them to
England, 'France and Holland between June
1 and 22.

The second Molsen's Point Series Class A
Tractor Pull' will: be held in Lucknow this
Weekend.
• Last years close to. 5,000 people attended
the. Lucknow-piill which is held on a track
built by the Lucknow TraCtor Pullers'
Association ,at the gravel pit north of the
railway tracks on Havelock Street,
Pullers will compete in six classes of mini
tractors and seven classes of super stock and
mOdified tractors. This year there is another
attraction. as 4 -wheel .super stock trucks will
• be competing in a 6500 pound class.
Pullers are expected to attend -from the
Ottawa Valley, Michigan and- all Over
Ontario as they compete to win points in the
Molson Series to determine a Grand
..Champion for the 1979 pulling season. They
also be trying to win pri4es with a total
purse. of .10,975 at this year's pull.
The pull begins 'at 1 p.m. Saturday and
again at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Bring your lawn.

•Lucknow this weekend.

theft charge
A Toronto man has been charged with
break, enter and theft following an investi-
gation , into a theft from, the residence of
Brian Gamrnie in West Wawanosh in June.
Most of the articles stolen were recovered
when Goderich OPP searched the man's
residence in Toronto. The man was stopped
in Stratford by police who were doing a \
routine car check following a break in and
theft in that city. • Articles stolen in that
incident were found in the man's 'car as well
as articles ((tiring a break in and theft in
Wingham.
Goderich detachment questioned the man
following the • Stratford •arrest and he
admitted to the theft at the Gatnmie home in
June. The police then searched the man's
Toronto residence and recovered the missing
articles.
The man is being held in custody in
Walkerton County Jail until July 23 when he
will ' answer to charges related to the
Stratford, Wingham and West Wawanosh
incidents.
