Mr. and Mrs. Glen Hod- gins and family of St. Cath- arines visited over the holi- day with Mrs. Marretta Hod- gins. Darryl stayed for a holi- day with his grandmother. Right Reverand Harold F. and Mrs. Appleyard of Lon- don visited Tucsday with Edna and May Boyle. It was SO years. that day that Mr. Appleyard came to begin his ministry at the Anglican Church here. Mr. Maurice McKinnon was the oldest member pres ent. After a most enjoyable afternoon of sports and visit- ing, supper was ready and much enjoyed. Relatives came from Cali- fornia, Tampa, Holten Lake, Lansing, Detroit, Redford, Mason, Toronto, London, Jackson, Kinloss, .Niagara, St. Catharines, Lucknow and Kinlough. Mrs. Don Robertson read an address to the bride on behalf of all, for good wishes and many happy years of wedded bliss, The bride and her attiend- ants, her mother and mother- in-law, opened the gifts and read the attached verses. Also assisting were Mrs. John Bushell and.Miss Susan Barr and Miss Lois Nicholson made a very attractive apron from the lovely colourful bows, which the. bride wore as she and her mother and the groom's 'mother went around and spoke to every- one present. Jeannette expressed her sincere appreciation to all for the lovely gifts and tothe ladies who . arranged the shower and invited all toher honte- here on July 14th to her trousseau tea. Delicious refreshments were served and a nice social time enjoyed. HOLYROOD W -I, Mrs. Victor Emerson of Whitechurch was the guest speaker at the meeting of the H:W.L' which took the form ofa pot ` luck supper at the home of Mrs. Raynard Ack- ert on Thursday evening. Mrs. Emerson who is the retiring curator, brought the record book and " gave a wealth of information and urged each family to have a "house log" with an of the information about their home. She was accompanied by Mrs. Currie, also of White- church, whogave a splendid report on the 31st Officers Conference at the University of Waterloo. Mrs. Lorne Eedy presided and welcomed everyone. The roll call was "An item, suggestion, or picture for the Tweedsmuir History book':'. Mrs. William MacPher- son, curator and director for the meeting, gave an inter- esting motto, What grandma enjoyed instead of television. Mrs. John Scott read the minutes of the previous meeting and the financial h statement; and the communi- cations. Plans were spade for a trip to Elmira with the Via- institute in July and to Blyth in. early August. Improvements are to be made to the basement of the Holyrood hall, Leaders for the 4-H Needlepoint Course are Mrs. Shirley Stanley and Mrs. Barbara Gingrich. Mrs. William MacPherson gave the courtesy remarks and Mrs. Harvey Houston spoke on the FWIC Conven- tion which she attended at Saskatoon_ Area obituary __ WM. LINFIELD ANDERSON . Wm. Linfield Anderson of Goderich died in Alexander Marine and General Hospital on. Friday, June 29, 1979. He was born near Dungan- non on August 5, 1897 to George and Elizabeth (Caes- ar) Anderson. He was employed for 391/2 years with Chevrolet Division of General Motors, Detroit, retiring to Goderich in 1966. .He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Curran) and three sons, Alan of Harper Woods, Michigan; Curtis of Mt. Clemefis; Michigan; and Ar- thur of Sterling Heights, Michigan and seven, grand- children. He was predeceased by his daughter, Cora Nell. Funeral services were held at Stiles Funeral Home in Goderich. The Rev. G. L. Royal officiated. Interment was in Dungan- non Cemetery. Pallbearers ' were Thomas Anderson, W.
