Pinecrest residents enjoy pan rides

In May, the residents of
Pinecrest Manor, enjoyed
many forms of entertain-
ment.
The Roman Catholic resid-
ents held communion on May
1.
On May 2 nine residents
went for a ride in the van
down the fourth concession
of Kinloss through Langside
to t ' ' ' e ch road and
bac through .est Wawa -
nosh. Jr is nice to see the
country in the spring.
On May 7 the Lucknow
United Church Women, Unit
# 2 came to the Nursing
Home and enterained.
The Lucknow Kinettes
took some residents for a -ride
on May 8 in the evening.
Some of the Kinettes brought
their children and visited
with the residents that could-
n't go out.

JOHNSTONE.
William Howard John-
stone of Port Colborne pas-
sed away at the Port Col-
borne General Hospital on
Tuesday, June 12, 1979 in his
62nd year.
Born in Lucknow, Ontario,
he was a son of Peter
Johnstone of Lucknow and
the late Nellie James John-
stone. He was employed as
an electrician at INCO . for
over thirty " years until his
retirement in 1973,.and was a
member of the INCO Quarter
Century Club. —
He is survived by his wife,
June.(Haverstock), a daulgh-
ter, .Marilyn (Mrs. Gerald
Whelan)'of Franklin, Ohio, a
grandson, Kevin, his father,
Peter, two sisters, Mrs.
Allan : Guse (Winnifred) of
London, Ontarib, Mrs. Jam-
es Snelgrove (Ruth) of Kit-
chener and two brothers,
Donald of Islington and J. C.
Johnstone of Lucknow.
He was predeceased by
one brother Merle in 1978.
Mr. , Johnstone rested at
the Armstrong " Funeral
Home, 803 King Street, Port
Colborne,; where . services
were conducted by Rev:
Philip Brown of the Port
Colborne Baptist Church, on
Friday.: at 2 p.m.
Interment followed in
Pleasant View Memorial
Gardens.
JOHN KENNETH SCOTT
Friends in . Belgrave and
throughout thearea have
been saddened by the death
of John Kenneth Scott, R. R.
I Belgrave. Mr. Scott, who
was in his 52nd year, died at
University Hospital, London
on Friday, following a long
illness.
He was- born in East
Wawanosh Township on
September 4, 1927, son of
the late Robert James Scott
and his wife, the former
Margaret Isobel Aitken. In
1952 he was married to Lottie
Margaret Saunders at
her home in Ashfield 'Town-
ship, who survives:
Mr. Scott farmed for some
years and later was employ-
ed in construction work. He
was a member of the Pres-
byteriat `Church, Belgrave.
In addition to his wife he is.
survived by ten children:
Mrs. Jerry (Beth) de Bruyn,
Gifford; Mrs. Bill (Ila) Gad-
ke, Lakelet; Patsy, Clifford;
Karen, ' Audrey, John, Jim,
Bill, Kevin and Allan, all at
home. There are three sisters
and one brother, Mrs. John'
(Isabel) McMillan, Listowel;
Mrs. Gordon (Nora) Robb, R.
R. 3 Goderich; Mrs.. Leonard
(Mary) Eccles, Holstein and
Malcolm of Belgrave. Also
survived by three grand-
daughters and one grandson.
Service was conducted at
the Currie -Walker Funeral
Home on Monday at 1.00
p.m. by Rev. John G.
• Roberts, with interment in
Brandon,, Cemetery. Pallbear-
ers were Don Campbell,
Arnold Bruce, Harold Vin-
cent, Murray Vincent, Bruce
Campbell and Jim McCal-
lum. The flowers were car-
ried by Norm Cook, John
Carmichael, Bill Gallaher
and Clarke Johnston.

monthly bingo on May 14
and on May 16'nine residents
went for a ride in the van to
Port Albert.
Lois"Wamsley started her
weekly swimming on May
14th in Kincardine Pool.
On May 17 the Kinlough
Pentecostal Church made
their monthly visit and sang.
Jill Vandriel had a nice
message from the Bible.
Rev. Munshaw held his.
monthly worship service on
May 20.
May 22, was election day
and some got out to vote.
One of our residents has
been sick ever since Trudeau
lost the election, but I won't
mention any names.
We held another Wine and
Cheese Party on May 23. A
good time was had by all.
We planted our garden on
May 24. If any one is visiting
with our residents, take them
out to the south side and see
our little garden. Everyone
likes to watch a garden grow.
The Lucknow Christian Re-
formed. Church made - their
monthly visit on May 27 and
held a worship service.
May 30th was our monthly
birthday party and the Luck -
now -United Church Women,
Unit # 1, came to sing for us
and read some readings.
The residents with birth-
days in May were Elsie
Haney, May 7, 94 years old;
Mae Miller, May 21 and
Donanne Adams, May 8.
On May 3L eight residents.
enjoyed another outing in the
van to Ripley. Those going
for a ride that day were.
