Fair- hall of Glen Orchard were recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maulden and Keith. Mrs. Delbert Hedley and Mrs. Rose Moulton accom- panied the Brownies on a trip to Story Book Gardens on Saturday. Other adults in the area also went and all had an enjoyable time. Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Lila (Richards) Hyslop of Alliston in the death of her husband. Lila grew up in our village and is well known here. A very pleasant gathering was held on Thursday even- ing last at the Maulden home where Jack Webster, who is home from Edmonton on a visit, was guest of honour. All had been invited fora get together, for a time of reminiscing and friendly chat, . topped off with a delicious lunch. Mrs. Ina Eadie and Mrs. Jean Hodgins visited Sunday with Edna and May Boyle. Mr. Jack Webster of Ed- monton, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Lane and Blain, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Lane, Janet, Joyce and Judy and John Lane went to Strathroy on Sunday to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell . Brown (Kathleen Lane) and family an. d joining them there for their family day were Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lane and family. Mrs. Irene. MacKenzie of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Dr. and Mrs. D'arcy Bruce were dinner guests on Sun- day with Edna and May Boyle. The Bruces returned home to Owen Sound and Mrs. MacKenzie stayed to visit with relatives here: Mr. and Mrs. Howard - Bennett and Dennis Gould of Torontovisited with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haldenby. Mrs; Arthur Haldenby re- ceived word of the death of her cousin the late Mrs. Velda Yoeman of Wiarton. KINLOUGH''A.C.W. The. Anglican Church Women met at the church -on Thursday afternoon with Miss May Boyle hostess. Mrs. Delbert Hedley pres- ided and welcomed every- 'one. This was a "Friend- ship" meeting and the roll call was "Bring a friend and introduce her". Mrs. Ronald Thacker read the minutes and several "thank you" notes. Mrs. Roy Collins read the story of the origin of the hyinn, "What a friend we have in Jesus", which was the hymn used to open the meeting. Mrs. Rev. Garratt read Psalm 125 for the scripture followed by prayer. Mrs. Gertrude Walsh gave a well prepared meditation on "Friendships, old and new". Mrs. Eric Thacker was the convener for the program and opened with a reading on the theme and also gave . a splendid talk on Mental Illness. Those taking . part with readings and poems were Mrs. David Haldenby,_ Mrs. Bert Nicholson, .Mrs. How- ard , Thompson, Miss May Boyle, Mrs. Roy Collins, Mrs. Ronald Thacker, Mr"s. Eric . Thacker. Suitable hymns were sungthroughout the meeting and a period of time was set apart for a hymn. sing with Miss Edna Boyle at the piano. The meeting closed with a - poem, "My neighbour", and prayer. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Delbert .Hedley and Mrs. Bert Nicholson.
