At the com- pletion of the first fiscal year of operations, the fitness testing van had visited 40 communities and over 2,000 adults were tested in South- western Ontario. Has the program assisted adults to become more ac- tive? There are indications from a follow-up survey on 200 people that the testing program had significant ef- fect on the activity patterns. Specifically, 49% of the men and 46% of the women who took the test indicated that their level of activity have increased and they were following the exercise pre- scription given to them dur- ing the consultation phase of the test. On June 26, the fitness testing van will be returning to Lucknow and adults who wish to have their physical fitness assessed should pre - register with Jim Montgom- ery at 528-3007. A fee of • $15.00 is charged to off -set the operating costs of the program. In this •current year of operations, Fitness Ontario will be examining the test • results of people who are being re -tested to determine if theirievels of fitness have improved. Already there are indications that the people who followed their exercise prescriptions have- improved on various measures of phys- ical fitness. The change to a more active lifestyle for some adults appears to have re- sulted from the Ontario "Fit Test" progranri and it is hoped that in the future, more adults will "Get More Out of Living When They Put .k 1 ALL STAR TOURS PIONEERS OF ESCORTED MOTOR COACH TOURS "OUR BUSINESS IS GOING PLACES" The Country Music Festival * * * of 1979 ¥* JAMBOREE IN THE HILLS Wheeling, West Virginia 19 Hours of Country Music in the Milk ' 13 & 4 DAY TOURS Leaving July 13 See in person such stars as Johnny Cash, June Carter Cash, Sonny James, Tom T.
