Joe Tiffin's Orchestra sup- plied music for the occasion. Present for the occasion were her brothers, Hector of Strathroy, Athol, Port Col- borne and Elgin of Detroit and 15 of his relatives including Clara, Wingham, Cassie, Whitechurch and Iso- bel of Lucknow. The only one unable to be present was Florence (Mrs. Jack Mac- Intyre) a patient at Pinecrest Manor. The couple were called at lunch time to the platform by . Athol Purdon who gave words of welcome to all. The address was, read by Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and the presentation of gifts was made by Mrs. Angus •.Fal- coner. Spending the weekend with Mrs. Bob Mowbray were Mr. and Mrs. Hector Purdon and her mother, Mrs. House, 93 and her brother, 90 of Meaford who came to celebrate his 'sisters .93rd birthday on Sunday.. Mr. and Mrs. Athol Purdon andfam- ily and son Douglas and wife of Utah also attended. Congratulations to Cindy Moore and Richard Day our grade 8, scholars, of Lucknow School from the village who were able to attend the four day bus trip to Ottawa. Also on the bus trip was Joey Tiffin of ;the' 4th concession, Kinloss. Carl Butler of Mitchell was a Sunday afternoon caller on Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin. Mr. and Mrs.. John A. Currie on Wednesday, June 6 attended graduation cere- monies for their daughter, Sandra, who graduated from the College of Family and Consumers Studies at the University of . Guelph. The ceremonies were held at the War Memorial Hall. This community extends cpngrat ulations to Sandra who pas- sed with Fionours. Mrs. Jim Henderson, Mr., and Mrs. Henderson Jr and Christal of Brantford spent. the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Tiffin and at- tended Mr. and Mrs. George Tiffin's 50th wedding anni- versary in Whitechurch Com- munity Hall Saturday even - mg. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Mc- Glynn, Wayne and Janet of Kitchener spent Sunday with her •parents, Mr. and Mrs, Joe Tiffin and with his par- ents on the weekend and attended the 50th anniver- sary for Mr. and Mrs. George Tiffin. On Thursday evening i s. Victor Emerson receive a long distance phone call fr' m Rev. and Mrs. Harry Os- borne and family wishing her to inform folks that they had arrived safely.'on. Thursday last in . Thompson, Manitoba to find the ground covered with snow. On Thuriday, June 7th it was like a day in March when one needed their heavy winter coat. None of them were ill after the trip. All their furniture which had been shipped at 2 different times had arrived safely and his books arrived that day. ' A good sized congregation was present for the Sunday ser- vice. This community sends Rev. and Mrs. Osborne and family their best wishes for health and happiness in their work. We are sorry to report that Mrs. Violet Laidlaw of Cosy Corners Nursing Home had the misfortune to fall a couple of weeks ago breaking her hip. She was taken to Wingham Hospital. She is recovering as well as can be expected which her friends will be happy to know. Mrs. Anna Hanna, Am- sterdam, New York is visit- ing a few days with her sister, Mrs. Oliver at Hugh Sinnamon's home. On Sunday Mrs. Oliver, Mrs. Hanna, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hertel, Kitchener, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bee- croft, Kevin, Shannon and Heather, Wingham, Mr. and Mrs: Glen Sinnamon, Wing - ham and Hugh Sinnamon were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft and Karen. The Kennedy Reunion was held Saturday at Auburn Community Hall with around 50 people present for dinner. The meeting was held with Wm. Kennedy, president, of Kincardine, presiding. A program of .music_ and step dancing was held: The next meeting in 1980 will be held at Bradnock Central, Guelph. Mrs. Jean Farquarson came' the farthest from Kamloops, B.C. She is in her 90th year. Her sister, Mrs. Viola Fig- ures of Sault Ste. Marie and Mrs. Rena Hoey spent the weekend with the Purvis' of Mitchell.. and other relatives around Lucknow and with Miss. Annie Kennedy of Wingham. • Mrs. Eileen Parker, Mrs. Murray Granville, Benji and Billie of Exeter were Wed- nesday visitors with Mrs. Mary McClenaghan and Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan. On Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan attended the Quarter Horse Show at Centralia. Mrs. Mary Mc- Clenaghan accompanied them to Exeter and' visited with Mrs. Eileen Parker. Anniversary ' services will be held on Sunday, June 17 at the Whitchurch United Church with services at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. 'with guest speaker Rev. George Watt of St. Pauls, Oakville. In the evening special music will be given by the Maribell Sing- ers of Belmore. At the morn- ing service Miss Susie Moss of Plattsville will. be soloist. We are pleased to report that Mrs. Ethel Stewart of Wingham was able to return to her own home last week from Wingham Hospital. Miss .Joyce Tiffin of Tor- onto spent :theweekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan. Tiffin. Mr, and Mrs. Dave Gibb on Saturday evening attend- ed the wedding of Peter Braum and Karen Whitby at the English church, Wing - ham and the reception at the Legion Hall, Wingham.
