resent quilt to honour couple's' 25th anniversary
Leo and Imelda Murray
celebrated their 25th wed-
ding anniversary on June
2nd. An enjoyable evening
was spent with family,
friends and neighbours.
Their daughter, Marilyn,
was home from Alberta.
The following poem was
read by Gloria ,Murray. Leo
and Imelda were presented
with a quilt.
LEO AND IMELDA
We decided in the winter of
'78
For Leo and Imelda, a quilt
we would make.
e knew your 25th was soon
We sure changed the sub-
ject, right away quick
When Leo or Imelda .came
into the thick. (of it)
Nancy, Justin, Gloria and
Rob,
Went down to the store and.
got on with the joh.
We bought up material and
snipped it -all up, -
Gave out all the pieces that
we had cut up.
All those represented were
given a square,
Each was to paint his picture
right there.
The talent was flowing, .the
mistakes were few,
But, by gosh, those fingers
flew. '
We sewed them -together
with strips of brown,
We were already to go to
town.
To Nancy's bedroom we did
go
And set it up .all ready to
sew,
mg) THEN THE
"FUN" BEGAN...
We lied and cheated, stitch-
ed and swore,
Our backs got tired and our
fingers sore.
Imelda, you were twice in the
kitchen —
We knew we had to finish
that stitain ' .
Folks sneaked upstairs, to
give us a fright,
Rev. Armstrong speaks
Kinloss service
vv So thought we'd give you a at South
to arrive •
little surprise.
This was discussed at many a
gathering,
If you noticed anything, we
were just blathering.
