Council- lor Hickey was absent. Reeve Foran presided. The minutes of the regular -, May meeting, and minutes for four subsequent meetings held in May, were read and adopted on motion of Coun- - cillors Durnin and Atchison. Motion by Councillors Cranston and Aitchison, "That West Wawanosh Township hereby approves the Severance Application of Harold and Barbara Lon - dry". Motion by Councillors Durnin and Aitchison'"That West—Wawanosh Township hereby approves the Sever- ance Application of Claude and Dorothy Stewart". Reeve's vote carried the motion. Motion by Councillors Ait- chison and Cranston, "That Applications for Loans sub- mitted by J. Stoll, D. Stutz - man and R. Biernan for tile drainage be accepted by West Wa.wanosh Township Council". Motion by Councillors Ait- chison and Cranston, "That Building Permits are hereby authorized to be issued to J. Hakkers (barn); J. Bos (silo); J. D. Durnin (addition); T. Stark (shed); M. Shetler (barn); T. Nicholson (addi- tion); L. Miller (shed); and T. Armstrong (garage)". Motion by Councillors. Durnin and Cranston, "That a Building Permit is hereby authoriz,ed for F. McQuillin for an implement shed, sub- ject to completion of the Application as to size of the building and the cost esti- mate". Wm. Beyershergen ad contacted the Clerk regard- ing a clean-out of the Rintoul Drainage Works on his prop- erty. The Drainage Superin- tendent inspected the site and reported to Council that work , is necessary• on a certain portion of the Drain. Motion by.Councillais Durn- in and Aitchison, "That West Wawanosh Township Council hereby authorizes the Drainage Superintendent to proceed with the neces- sary steps to have the clean-out of the Rintoul Drainage Works undertaken as required". The Road Accounts •were passed for payment on mo- tion of Councillors Cranston and Aitchison. The same pro- gram will be introduced for boys over the next couple of weeks. It is the intention of this committee to start re- building the minor ball pro- gram. Volunteers are urgently needed in this area. Anyone interested in dedicating themselves in any particular area of recreation is asked to Eadie and Gibb approved building permits for Win. A building permit was approved for Jim Humphrey on lot 14 plan 152 for a permanent double wide trail- er home to replat-e- • the present one, conditional up-, on a severance being granted for a building lot. The Kiploss Township ex- tension of Havelock Street is to be temporarily closed on Saturday, July 21st from 10 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. and on Sunday, July 22nd from 10.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. to accommodate a tractor pull. The roadway must be kept open for emergency use: Gerald Rhody was hired as chief building official in the Township. By-law number 11 - 1979 was given lst, 2nd and 3rd reading to set the mill rates for 1979 pertaining to the collection of taxes for local, county and education expen- ditures. Taxes are to be paid in two installments. the first by July 16th and the second by November 30th. The swimming program is near completion along with a playground program in con- junction,with swimming les- sons. Final dA3f for registra- tion is next Saturday 9 - 12 a.m. A roller skating program will commence this Friday night Lucknow Intermediates started the regular season on a losing streak, dropping the 1st game of the schedule to Wingham 3 - 2 and losing to Teeswater 8 - 4. Lucknow's first home game will be Wednesday, July 4, but in the mean time they will be participating in the Wing - ham Tournament Friday, June 15 at 7.30 The following Friday, June 22, they will play in the Lucknow Kins- men Tournament.
