Victoria Hospital, London, ,on Mon day, May 28, 1979 of Agnes Donalda MacQuaig of 170 Cherry Hill Circle, London. Agnes MacQuaig was born in ,Lucknow on December 31st, 1888, one of eleven children of the late Effie Nicholson and Angus Mac- Quaig. She received her early education in Lucknow and later entered the nursing profession, graduating from Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, Illinois. She return- ed to Canada and served with the Canadian forces overseas during the First World War 1914-18, when she was men- tioned •in dispatches from Field Marshall Sir Douglas Haig, and honoured by. Sir Winston Churchill for distin- guished service in the field. Following the war, she nursed in Chicago until 1932, when she returned to Luck - now, and continued her pro- fession with the local physi- cians until about 1960, when she retired, due to declining health. Miss MacQuaig was a member of the Lucknow Presbyterian Church and an Honorary member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 309 of the Canadian Legion, Lucknow. She is survived by one sister, Mary, of Londos. The funeral service was conduct- . ed at 2.00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 1979 at the Mac- Kenzie and McCreath Funer- al Home, Lucicnow,,,with Rev. William Munshaw of Luck - now Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment followed in South Kinloss Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were James Henderson, Roy Fin- layson, Leonard McInnes and James Fettes. Noisy Ladies are still undefeated The Noisy Ladies increas- ed their record to 4 wins and no losses with defeats over the Goderich teams, the Ele- vators and the Sailorettes. They played the Elevators on May 24 when homeruns by Pat Boak, Judy Draper and Debbie Price led the girls to a44 - 1 victory. On May 31 they played the Sailorettes in a closer game winning' 19 -. 9. Born in Ashfield Township on December 25, 1888 she was a daughter of .the late John Johnstone, formerly of Scotland and the late Sarah MircDonald,4 formerly of Scotland. She married Andrew Cul- bert of Dungannon in 1908. She is survived by her two daughters, Velma Ashton, Plymouth Michigan and Peg- gy McIntosh, New Hudson, Michigan, and four sons, Andy, Point Clark; Bordon, Detroit; Elmer, Ashfield; and Herbert, Southfield, Michi- gan. She is also survived by two sisters, Mabel Campbell and Jean Scott, both of Lucknow. The funeral was held on Saturday, June 2, 1979 at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Chapel in Lucknow with Rev. Hugh Nugent of Ashfield Presbyterian Church and Rev. William Munshaw of Lucknow Pres- byterian Church, in charge of the service. Pallbearers were David MaCDonald; William Camp- bell, Gordon Brooks, Dynes Campbell, Basil Hogan and Denny Hamilton. Burial followed in Green - lin Cemetery. RACHEL [BOYLE] KELLY The death occurred in Wingham and District Hos- pital on Wednesday, May 23, of Mrs. Rachel Eleanor Kelly of Pinecrest Nursing Home, Lucknow, formerly of Wing - ham,. She was in her 88th year. Mrs. Kelly was born at Westfield on October 2, 1891. She was the former Eleanor Boyle, a daughter of the late James Boyle and Mary Jane Redmond. She was predeceased by her hits - band, John Kelly. Left to mourn are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Michael (Irene) Cummins of Lucknow, Mrs. Gus (Mary) Devereaux, Wingham, and Jack Boyle of Wingham. The late Mrs. Kelly rested at the Currie -Walker Funeral Home, Wingharn, where family prayers were recited Thursday evening at nine o'clock, Removal was -made • to St, Augustine Roman Catholic Church, where de- ceased was a member, for °service Friday at 11 a.m. Rev. E. Dentinger was the officiating clergyman. Final resting place is St. Augustine Cexnetery. Pallbearers were Johnston Conn, Charlie Robinson, Dave King, Cyril Boyle, Gor- don.
