The Huron. Trail Riders

held their first club show of
the season on Saturday, June
2nd at the Agricultural Soci-
ety grounds' with a good
number of horses in attend-
ance. The second show is
slated for Sunday, June 24th
when any new members or
spectators _would be ,most
welcome. • .
Mr. and. Mrs. Ben Mole
attended the 42nd wedding
anniversary for Mr. and Mrs.
Harvey Mole held •at the
Anglican Parish Hallin Luck -
now on Sunday afternoon,
put on by their son Don and
daughter, Marion.. Mr. and
Mrs, Alvin McDonald of
Brussels visited later at the
Ben. Mole home. Several
others fromthe village 'also
attended" this anniversary
celebration. '
In the sports activity at the
local ball diamond on Sunday
the Dungannon "Beez" lad-
ies team were defeated by
the N.A. mets: and the banes
team defeated the Port Al-
bert Pirates in the slow pitch
game. The Port Albert: boys

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Marsh
of Auburn' and Mrs. Edith
Thompson of Brampton visit-
ed on Saturday. evening with
Mel Jones.

Monday, June 4 is a Pro-
fessional • Development Day
for Brookside. After . that
Grades '7 and 8 will be
suffering for a week and a
half with examinations.
Woodland Heights Band
from London performed be-
fore the school on June 1.
They played an overture; folk,
.
dances, marches and a few
rpck numbers. The students •
were all in Grade 8 and in
their ' second year of band,
work. Twentystudents were
in .the stage band and .. 40
students in the concept'band:
The leader of the `group was
Miss Mary E. Andrew who
lives in 'this area. Overall it
was an excellent perform-
ance. .
On June 6' Mr. Liddle, one
of the teachers at Brookside,
will : be graduating froth the
University of Western Ont-
ario. Congratulations.. Mr.
Liddle. '
