Ashfield campaign raises $1550.

The Cancer campaign in
Ashfield has been complet-
ed. This included Port Al-
bert, Dungannon and Nile
and the amount of 81554.03
was collected„
Team Captains were Mrs.
Isabel Eedy, Mrs. Cora
Cook, Christ Church, Port
Albert and Mrs. Rita How-
ard, Kingsbridge CWL. Can
vassing were Flora MacKen-
zie, Betty Mcncrief, Kelso
MacNay, Isabel Hunter, Ir-
ene Nelson, fifth? Hogan,
Joanne Menary Elaine Col-
lins, Cyril Austin, Rita How-
ard, Isabel Eedy, Judy Kerr,
Elsie Irvin, Amy Wiggins,
Olive Chisholm, Helen Nich-
olson, Doris Dacr, Joan
Thompson, Sandra Curran
and Dorothy Brown. Many
thanks ,to all the canvassers
and everyone for their dond-
tions and co-operation.
With more suitable weath-
er these last three weeks,
farmers in this area have
been very busy planting their
crops. Most of the barley,
oats, 'lax and corn planting
• has been completed and
bean planting will "ibon be
the order Of the day. Many of
the southern counties leave
not been -So fortunate weath-
erwise as Hurori. County.
Soon the fields will all be
green again.

28, Lisa Frayne, Denise Con-
nelly, and Melissa Martin
took part in the Annual High-
land Dancing Recital at Mac-
Kay Hall in Goderich. On
Saturday evening, June 2,
Lisa also .took part in the
annual recital of the Cum-
brae School of Dancing at
Kincardine.
Ken and Lucille King of
Welland spent the: past week
with her sister, Clarice Dac''
. ton and family. Her daugh-
ter, Ann and Bruce Pritchard
of Mississauga also visited
with them.
Many from this area spent
an enjoyable evening dane-
ing to "Chicory". This was
sponsored by St. Joseph's
Community School Associa-
tion.
Beau Daniel Riegling, in-
fant son of Max and Helen
Riegling, waschristened by
Rev. Ed Dentinger C.R. at
St. Joseph's Church on Sun-
day, June 3rd. Godparents

at the Riegling home on
Highway 86.
Patrick Michael Dalton,

to visit with the Daltons
afterwards.

Marianne Linders and David
Perry. The ceremony took
place at St. John the Evan-
gelist R.C. Church in Whit-
by, Ontario. At the reception
following, 1301 took ill sud-
denly and was hospitalized
for a few days at Whitby
General' Hospital before' re.
turning home to convalesce.

returned home from hospital
