Angus Falconer attended by Mr. and Mrs. Alan Falconer, speaker, choosing for her topic Pioneer Churches and singing many old hymns. Quite a number attended from Whitechurch. Go to Ouctiou, on school trip BY LILLIAN YOUNG Pam Springer and Christ- ine Bregman were two of the grade 8 scholars who went on a trip to Ottawa last Wed- nesday returning home on Saturday evening. George Zuskin and David Secord of Thamesville visited last Tuesday with Ken Young. • Marilyn Moffat of Guelph spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bates pf Teeswater. Marilyn is the daughter of ,Mr. and Mrs. Graham Mof- fat, formerly of this district. Mrs. Len Coughlin held a successful tupperware party last Wednesday evening. Mrs. Joan Wissler was dem- onstrator. After the demon- stration lunch was served by the hostess. Karen Young was one of the Lucknow band members who went on a trip to Michi- gan last weekend and this s.'..ek went .to Niagara on Saturday. Both trips were much enjoyed. • We are sorry to report that • Graham Moffat of Teeswater is still a patient in Wingham Hospital. His sister, Marg- aret Moffat of Toronto spent last week in. Teeswater. Red Shield canvass raises $1,800 The Red Shield campaign canvassed by the Lucknow and District Lions Club has raised $1,500 according to campaign chairman Bob Fin- lay. The campaign in the Lucknow area has been very successful in recent years. The total amount donated in the Wingham district was close to $8,000. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Moss of Plattsville spent the week- end with her mother, Mrs. Ben McClenaghan and Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan. Mrs. John D. Ross of Wiarton was a visitor on Wednesday at the McClen- aghan home, Mack Stewart of Kitchener visited Friday with Mr, and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan. Some of the ladies of Chalmers congregation were busy on Monday afternoon cleaning at the manse in preparation for the coming of the new preacher, Rev. John Bell on June 20. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and Karen and boys visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Stewart, Mark, Susan and Heather of Lam- beth,and also called on Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laidlaw and Michelle of London. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Campbell and Heather visit- ed the • past week with• her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul. • Congratulations to Graeme Johnston of Tumberry -on passing his university exams for. Bachelor • of Science. Since this good fortune, • Graeme has had a bit of bad, luck while helping his father, Elgin Johnston in the bush.. While using a chain saw he received a cut in his leg which necessitated his going to London hospital for treat- ment.
