Congratulations to Mr,
and Mrs. John de Boer who
were married on Saturday at
Dublin Street Church in
Peterborough.
A car accident,on the 8th of
Kinloss in which teenagers
from the Kincardine-Tiver-
`ion area were involved re-
sulted in' the : car hitting a
ro pole. No one was
eriously hurt. •
Anniversary services were
held at Whitechurch Presby-
terian Church on Sunday at
11 a.m. and 8 p.m. Rev.
Marshall of' Strathroy was
guest minister. Rev. Mar-
shall was minister at White-
church . and Langside about
20 years ago and many of the
congregation enjoyed meet-
ing him again. Next month
the Presbyterian Church
members will join with the
United Church members for
the, Sunday services.
Mrs. Philip Steer spent
two days in London last week,
visiting with her daughters.
Russell Young and- Debbie
Ferguson of Toronto spent a
few days last week at the
home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Clifford Young. Other

visitors through the week
were Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
Wightman, Mr. and Mrs..

Liane Young,. .Mrs. May
Richardson and Mr. and
Mrs. Reg Broome.
A successful auction sale
was held Saturday at the
farm of Walter Pickard. The
farm has been sold to M.
hxel.

With continued fine
weather farmers had another
busy week on the land.
Tuesday was 'election day
in Canada and we hope ev-
eryone went out to vote no
matter what party they voted
for.
Karen and Liane Young
were two band members
from this district who took
part -in the band concert in
Lueknow Saturday evening.
`A large crowd was in, attend-
ance.
Mr.. and Mrs. Ross Cayley
have sold their farm to a
family from Shakespeare.
Their farm was . the former
Stuart Scott farm on the
Kinloss Culross boundary.
The Huron Town and
Country Home Helpers held
their annual meeting in Clin-
ton on Wednesday evening.
Mrs.. Coughlin, Kelly, Kim
and Karey spent Thursday. in
Hamilton visiting with rela-
tives.
Peter Driscoll and brothers
of Thamesville visited with
Ken Young on Saturday.
Sympathy of the commun-
ity is extended to relatives of
Archie • Blair -who passed
away on Wednesday in
Wingharn Hospital. He was
well known in the district
having owned a grocery store
in Teeswater for many years
before retiring.
We are sorry to report that
William Young broke his leg
„ in a farm accident last Mon-
day and will have it in a cast
for at Least six weeks.
Harvey Osborne, student
minister at Whitechurch
Presbyterian. Church,
preached his farewell service
Sunday morning. After the
service he was presented
with an attache case and the
family was presented with a
clock from the congregation.
Sunday evening the ordina-
tion was held in the same
church which was followed
by lunch in the basement of
the church. Mr. and Mrs.
Osborne and fam Iy are leav-
ing the end of the r bnth far
Thompson, Manitoba.
Mr. and Mrs. John Koobs
and Christena of Gowans -
town visited on Sunday with
her mother, Mrs. Reulie de
Boer and family.
Babies .christened
At St, Andrews United
Church, Ripley, May 13 a
baptismal ceremony was
performed by Rev. Jim
Bushell. It was also
Mother's Day and the
large turn -out was most
impressive. ' -
Among those baptized
was Cole Carruthers, son
of Garry and Dawn
Carruthers (nee Bur-
nham).

eldest son of Mrs. Grace
Carruthers and" the late
Elliott Carruthers 'of
Ripley. Dawn is the'.
eldest daughter' of Mr.
and Mrs. Michael Bur-
nham of Kincardine.
Cole is the great
grandson of Mabel and
Norm Barnard of Ripley.,
After a short visit at the
Carruthers' home, a
sumptuous brunch was.
held at the Brth..e Inn,
Kincardine. It was . en-
joyed by all members of
the families; 18 in all.
-Grace had all her family
there including Garry,
Dawn and grandson Cole,
sons Blaine and Boyd and
his wife. Kathy (Farrell),
daughter Karen,. husband
Doug Martyn and family.
Mabel and Norm Bar-
nard, ':daughter's Ann and
Shannon.
A toast was drank to all
mothers which will long
be remembered.
