Congratulations go to Miss Faith Anne Howie, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Les Wardell and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Howie of Kitchener. Miss Howie, a student of Cameron Heights High School in Kitchener was one of six girls picked for a weekend at the University of Toronto in June and while there she will attend a Junior Business convention. Miss Howie received a plaque for the highest achievement in all the Junior Clubs for teenagers in the high schools and collegiates in Kitchener. Two funeral services were held in Kincardine • from page 12 back from Pinellis Park in Florida where they spent the winter. She also visited with her sisters and brothers and with her friends Ken and Gayle MacLeod and young baby on concession 8 west of Ripley. Her husband Milan (Sam) had to work over the weekend. Visiting with Miss Florence MacDonald at her home in Ripley for the Victoria weekend were George and Jeannie Marie MacLennan and Colin of Agincourt. Also visiting with Florence were Timmy and Becky Harrison of Goderich. Their grandmother Mrs. Larry Harrison is the former Lenore MacDonald of Huron. Visiting with Tim and Marie Lowry over the holiday weekend were Randy and Pat Lowry and sons Jeffrey and Randy of Woodstock. Friends and neighbours from Ripley and Kin- cardine gathered at the home of Mrs. Albert Picot in Ripley to honor her on the occasion ' of her 91st birthday, on May 9. Assisting the hostess, Mrs. Bill Chappell were Mrs. Jim Webster, Mrs. Don Picot, Mrs. Albert Picot Jr., and Mrs. Brian 'Astles. Mrs. Norma McLennan returned home after spending some time with Mrs.. Peggy MacDonald at Vancouver. Kenneth McLennan was home for the holiday weekend. Harold and,. Teta A,ld and Cindy 'of , Weston visited with ' John and Karen Wyld and family relatives in the area on the Victoria weekend. Sympathy of Ripley folks goes to Mr. and Mrs. Dick Edmiston of Ripley on the death of his father Doug Edmiston of Kin- cardine. He was known to many in this area from the years he was the mechanic at Leo Sparling's Garage on Kincardine's main street. The funeral was held in Kincardine on Tuesday afternoon. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Les Wardell were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wardell, Tena and Vincent of Tiverton for the Victoria Day weekend. Also Miss Florence Wardell was Johnston Bros. [Bothwell Ltd.) The first service was.for Mrs. Ivy Galbraith who passed away in Kincardine Hospital in the middle of the week. Mrs. Galbraith resided at her home in the southwest corner of Ripley — just a short distance north of Ripley cemetery, and to most Ripley folks her passing was sudden and unex- pected. Interment followed in Kincardine cemetery. She was the former Ivy Bonnett and sympathy is extended to her family and relatives.. The second service was for Mary. Anne Bell, 92, who; also passed away mid -week. Quite a few years ago she lived on the main street south of Ripley with her mother when she was known to Ripley people as Miss. Mayme was Bell. Interment in Tiverton cemetery. Sympathy goes to her nieces and relatives.
