Teacher Mrs, Marion Gamble reports that the following pupils per- formed -- Joyce Lane, Kerry Lynne Hunter, Lisa Gamble, Jean Anne Smeltzer, Sheila Osborne, Karen MacDonald, Janet Lane, Rodney Sutton, Ian Culbert, Dawn Nicholson, Leah Coulbeck and Marlene Murray. A social hour was spent at the home of Ambrose and Marion Gamble following. the recital. Recently Joan MacLeod and .her sister Anne Smith of Ottawa returned from a two week vacation in Atlanta, Georgia where they were visiting their nephew and his wife. At St, Andrew's United Church in Ripley on Sunday morning, May 13, a baptismal ceremony was performed by Rev. Jim Bush) 11. It was also Mothers' Day .service so there was a large congregation present,. Among .the five young children baptized, was Cole Carruthers, son of Garry and Dawn Carruthers. Horne from. During the past week it was certainly a busy seeding time on the farms throughput this part of. Ontario as farmers took advantage of the dry weather. Tractors were working in the fields everywhere, Donnie and Carol Fludder visited with her sister Glenda and A. J. Gardner and sons Aaron and Brandon in Vanastra. A number of people from Huron and Ripley attended a night of singing bychoirs made up of students from Grades 4 to 8 of the schools in the area. It was held last week in Kin- cardine. Schools taking part included, Huron Heights in Kincardine, Ripley Huron Central, Kinloss Central at Holyrood, Kincardine - Tiverton, Elgin Market and W. E. Thompson all of Kincardine. - Last Wednesday Mrs. Barbara Barber who has been with her mother Mrs. Elsie Forrester on Malcolm Street left to motor back to her home in Norwood, east of Peterborbugh. • Neigh- bours and friends especially along Malcolm Street and in . the north part of Ripley are glad to learn that Mrs. Forrester will continue to live here. Up from Brantford for the. Victoria holiday weekend was Mrs. Mary Lazzervicli.
