Mr. and Mrs. Michael
O'Malley, Douglas and, Lori
of Edmonton, Alberta visited
during the week with her
mother, Mrs. Bertha Hald-
enby and other relatives.
Mrs. Ken. MacDonald,
.Carl and Lisa returned home.
from Kitchener where they
spent the weekend with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Yeandle.
Some of the ladies from
here attended the spring tea
at Brucelea Haven, Walker-
ton on Thursday afternoon.
The many friends of How-
ard Thompson are sorry to
know he is a patient in the
Kincardine and District Hos-
pital and send along get well
wishes.

of Glen Orchard visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mauld-
en and Keith.
A commital service• was
held for the late George
Graham at South Kinloss
Cemetery following the fun-
eral of the late Levi Eck-
enswiller on Thursday. Rela-
tives were then received by
the -Kinlough Anglican
Church ladies when a lunch-
eon was served and relatives
and friends had the oppor-
tunity to visit with the family.

with Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Nicholson and Lois.

denby returned home. from
Toronto where they attended
the funeral of their nephew.
We extend sympathy to the
bereaved relatives.
Mrs. Roy Graham of God-
erich called on friends ,and
relatives here on Saturday.

were Sunday dinner guests
with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh
Cleland and family of Walk-
erton.
Mrs. John' Barr accom-
panied Mr. and Mrs. Morley.
Bushell and. Margaret of
Wingham to Kitchener on
Sunday, where they visited
with Mr. and Mrs. John
Bushell and infant son.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Mann
and family of Washago visit-
ed ‘with the Shaw families.
•A weddipg reception was
held in Holyrood Hall on
Friday evening for Mr. and
Mrs. Ron Graham. We ex-
tend congratulations.

Women met on Thursday
afternoon at the home of.
Mrs.' David Haldenby.
Mrs. Roy Collins, vice=
resident, was in charge and
opened the meeting with a
poem, "Where .there is.
Love", in keeping with
Mother's Day and also read
the scripture from lst Corin-
thians.
Roll call was A Woman 1
Admire.
Mrs. Eric. Thacker gave
the Mother's Day medita-
tion. Mrs. Ronald Thacker —
read the minutes of the
previous meeting and report-
ed on the spring bale which
was sent to the west since the
last meeting. Small chairs
are to be bought for the Sun-
day School kindergarten
class and also new church
linen.
Mrs. Jack Scott was pro-
gram convener and those
.assIsting her were Miss Edna
Boyle, Mrs. George Graham,
Mrs. Eric Thacker, Mrs.
Midford Wall, Mrs. David
Haldenby, Mrs. Bert Nichol-
son, Mrs. Roy Schneller and
Mrs. Roy Collins.
Mrs. Jack Scott gave the
origin of Mother's Day, and,
conducted contests and also
gave the courtesy remarks.
Sditable hymns were sung
throughout the meeting,,
',which closed with the bene-
diction,
Mrs. Midford Wall, lunch
convener, served delicious
refreshments.

The weather was perfect
for a bus load df residents
from Brucelea Haven, Walk-
erton • to come to Holyrood
hall on •Monday afternoon
where they enjoyed a fun day
arranged by the Holyrood
Women's Institute.

With fine sunny weather
last week farmers -were busy
working theland and sowing
grain. Showers at the end of
the week delayed them but
the weather now looks prom-
ising for another busy w'eek.
The Teeswater Brownies
went on ,a bicycle trip after
school on Wednesday ending
with a campfire and weiner
roast.
Mr. and Mrs. Len Cough-
lin and family have moved
from the 14 of Culross to the
house on Bob Bregrnan's
Kinloss farm (the former
Brooks farm). We would like ,
to welcome them to the com-
munity.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Breg-
man, Christine, Joanne and
Robert were dinner guests
with Mr. and Mrs, Keith
Bregman of Wingham on
Sunday.
The play "Anne' of Green
GAbles" presented by the.
drama dub of F. E. Madill
Secondary School in Wing -
ham on May 10, 11,' 12 was
well attended with a full
house each evening and was
enjoyed by all. We congratu-
late the members of the
drama club On a good perfor-
mance.

celebrated her fifth birthday

nybrook U.C.W. met at the
home of Mrs. Edward Rob-
inson on Tuesday evening
with ten members present.
Mrs. H. Jefferson opened
the meeting with a reading
on "Mothers".
I‘Mrs. Luba Weber gave a
Mother's Prayer. Mrs. H.
Jefferson gave meading on
' Mother's Love, followed with
a poem, Mother's Do, by
Luba Weber, Mothers Buy-
ing Love was given by Mrs.
H. Jefferson.
• Mrs. H. Jefferson took the
business part of the meeting.
Mrs. S. Chamney gave the
quarterly report.
Mrs. M. Wilson and Mrs.
Wni. Hardy assisted the
hostess for lunch, A small
• bazaar closed the evening.
• familiar songs, A reading
was given by Mrs. Charlie
Murray. Walter Collins and
Mrs. Margaret Harkness fay-
oured with some old time
music on the violin and
piano. Allan Miller .sang
songs playing his own ac-
companiment on .his guitar.
Fun games with prizes,
and a floating prize were
enjoyed. Mrs, Raynard Ack-
ert, Mrs. Jack Scott and
Mrs, William MacPherson
favoured with two old favour-
ite songs, acCompanied. by
Miss Edna Boyle.
More toe tapping music
even got some on the floor to
enjoy a good old time waltz.
Mrs. Evelyn Hussey ex-
pressed her sincere apprecia-
• tion on behalf of the resid-
ents, for the enjoyable after-
noon.
Grace was sung and the
• Holyrood ladies served tea
and light refreshments be-
fore the guests boarded the
• bus for their return trip to
Brucelea Haven, Walkerton.
