Spend Mother's Day in Whitechurch

Mrs, Bob Mowbray arriv-
ed home with Mr. and Mrs.
Relison Falconer and Lynn of
Sarnia on Saturday. She had
visited with them for a week.
Lynn visited with her cousins
and grandmother, Mrs..
Stacey .of Wingham.
Charlie Henderson and a
friend of Toronto visited one
day lastwe with Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Tiffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon
spent the weekend with Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Gaunt and
Jennifer of Chatham.
On Sunday a family reun-
ion was held at the home of
Mr.. and Mrs. Archie Purdon
in honour of Mrs. Ken
Luttrell of Prince George on
her way to Montreal for her
35th nurses, reunion. Mrs.
Luttrell is Mrs. Hazel. Purd-
on's sister Elizabeth's
daughter. Forty-nine. Ander-
son descendants gathered for
noon celebration on Sunday
at Archie Purdon's • where a
real renewal of families 'was,
enjoyed.
This community extends
their sincere ' sympathy , to
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Little in
the passing 'of • his son,
Clarence Little, 20 years of
age, who was drowned Wed-
nesday, -May 9, while swim-
ming, at Lindsay. The funeral
was held on Saturday.

On May 9 Whitechurch
Women's Institute Family
and Consumer Affairs meet-
ing was. held in Whitechurch
Community Memorial Hall.
The president, Miss Merle
Wilson,bnened the meeting.
The . minutes were read by
the secretary, Mrs. Alan
Falconer.
It was decided to have a
bazaar, a bake sale, white
elephant sale and serve tea
in September.
Miss Merle Wilson gave
readings from an old School
Reader and one on. Diefen-
becker.
Mrs. John A. Currie,
delegate to the conference at,
Waterloo for curators, gave a
report . of the conference.
Lady, Tweedsmuir introduced
the Tweedsmuir Histories
named after her,- When
History is written may it be
remembered that the Wom-
en's Institutes were the
greatest power behind them.
Arrangements were made
for attending. the District
Annual to be. held at- Kincar-
dine, May 1.5, ..
The roll call was answered
by around 20 members tell-
ing or showing something in
your home that can be
recycled.
The motto, People are like
tea bags. they never know
their own strength until they

Irwin. Hats was given by Lori
Jamieson in an old time
costume. and Janet Laidlaw
in modern outfit.
Joe Tiffin recently attend-
ed, a musicians meeting in
Wingham.
Miss Jane Laidlaw of
London visited Saturday with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
.Elroy Laidlaw.
We are sorry to report that
Joey Tiffin last week had the
misfortune to have his collar
bone broken again where it
had been broken earlier in
the winter.

where they met John Adams.
