The two courts will be built at Victoria Park adjaeent to. the Lawn Bowling green on Havelock Street. The courts will be partially fenced in. Depending on the popularity of the sport, lights may be added at a later date, Construction - will begin this week. The Lucknow 'town council was ap- proached regarding the use of Victoria • Park and permission was granted to go ahead. Local contractor Robert Symes' quote was chosen for the excavation and Loc -1 lwiefs• Allan Miller, St, Helens, is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, having been transferred from.Wing- • ham and District Hospital on Thursday. Upon completion, the courts will be turned over to the village of Lucknow and , will be open to the public., ' Project chairman, Rod McDonagh, stat-. ed the cost for this project will be between $14,000.00 and $15,000.00 and it may take . two to three years to pay it off. The money will •be raised from such efforts as the paper drives, the Kinsmen sponsored circus on May. 31st and the Kin Summer - fest. There is a possibility some money may come from. a. Recreation Centre Act grant. The Kinsmen ' also plan to build playground equipment at the sante site.
