The election of officers were president, Joann • de Boer; 1st vice, Karen Pick- ard; secretary, Karen Elliott; treasurer, Brian Ross; pian- ists, Lianne Young, Joann de Boer. Roll call was answered by 8 with a word from Psalm 23. The Birthday Calendar was marked. Business considered was plans for a picnic. The Junior story was, God gave us .the world. The senior story was Cheer up and be happy. The closing prayer was given by Mrs. Simpson. This year Whitechurch Women's Institute collected a total of $424 for the Cancer Society, an inc\,ease of 575 from last year. Her pictures of •Japan were very colourful and interesting showing the beauty of, the country and places visited and the people McGibbon will speak submitted to the Tartan committee, consult Mrs. Arnold. The possibility of planting a tree to celebtate 75 yrs. of Women's Institute in Ripley was discussed by the President Mrs. Lock and members. A donation' of $100 will be given to a charitable cause honouring Honourable Pauline McGibbons The next meeting in June will be held at 10 a,yn. at Mrs, Nick Peet's home. The Ripley Branch • will provide a program at the Lucknow 'nursing home on J.une 26th. Mrs. Bill Chappells expressed thanks to all taking part in the meeting, especially the lunch corn mittee.
