Raises roof
The roof of Montgomery Motors, Lucknow was raised during the
winter storm on Friday when gale force winds reached 100
kilometres an hour. In Kincardine, the roof of the Bruce Inn was

William Harold Stanley of

was in his 78th year.
• Mr. Stanley was born in
Kincardine Township on Oct-
ober 31, 1901. He was the
son the late Albert Stanley
and the late Emily Collins,
the youngest of 11 children.
He attended Kinloss Pub-
lic School and was later
trustee on the Kinloss School
Board. He attended Kinloss
-.United- Church when health
permitted. He was a faithful
member of Kinloss L.O.L.
Lodge 898 and was County
Master.
He married the former
Hazel Bannerman on Sept-
ember 7, 1927 and they had
the honour• of celebrating
their 50th golden wedding
- anniversary on August 14,
1977.
Mr. • Stanley was a 'good
friend and neighbour. Many
floral tributes and donations

to different charities given in ,
his memory at the time of his
death, attested to the esteem
in which he was held in the
community.
He is survived by his wife,
a son, Ronald,. Kinloss and
two daughters, Mrs. Michael
Procyshen, Canora, Saskat-.
chewan and .Mrs. Bill Elliott,
FiRley. Sixteen grandchild-
ren and one great grandchild
also survive, as well as his
twin sister, Annie Read of
Calgary, Alberta.
He was predeceased by a
son, Carl in 1964 and seven
sisters and two brothers.
The funeral was conducted
at the ' Linklater Funeral
Home, Kincardine,,on March
7, 1979 with Rev. Robert
Clyde officiating.
Pallbearers • were four
grandsons, George Stanley,
Bill Stanley, Bob Stanley and
Doug Garniss and two neph-
ews, Albert Colwell and
David Bannerman.
Grandchildren were also
flower bearers.
Temporary entombment
followed in Kincardine Mau-
soleum with spring burial in
Kincardine Cemetery.
