The Young People's Soci- ety on Saturday held a very successful bake and rum- mage sale. • Rev. Harold Colvin of Markdale had charge of the services on Sunday at Chal- mers Presbyterian Church in the absence of Mr. Harvey Osborne. Rev. Colvin, was accompanied here by Rev. N. Caswell of Markdale.'" Rev, Caswell preached here at Langside and Whitechurch a • number of- years, age and hadn't been back until Sun- day. Mrs. Osborne went to Toronto Sunday afternoon to get an essay• from her husband and will return on Monday. Anna and Laura visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lubbers and family and Bethany visited with Lana Craig. • Mr. and Mrs. Bill Porteous of Lucknow were Sunday afternoon callers on Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. Mrs. Lorne Durnin and Mrs. Victor Emerson on Tuesday last attended Bruce South District Directors Women's Ihstitute meeting held at Belmore. On Friday last Wilford Clipperton and Fred Tiffin attended the Brussels com- munity sale. WHITECHURCH W.M.S. Whitechurch W.M.S. of Chalmers Church held their. March meeting March 28 at the home of Mrs. Harvey Osborne. Mrs. Alan Falconer open- ed the meeting with a verse on the child. The scripture was read by Mrs. Wesley Tiffin. Mrs. Victor. Emerson \ led in prayer. Mrs. Bill Rintoul gave the meditation 'information on the Liberty of the children of God. Mrs. Dave Moffat gave a reading on how a child lives. Mrs. Alan Falconer gave the topic, The Child. The offering was received and dedicated by Mrs. Har- vey Osborne. Mrs. John de Boer told about the farming of the soyabean and corn crops in China and of the camp life. The president, Mrs. Don Ross, presided for the busi- ness part of the meeting. The minutes were read by the secretary, Mrs. Bill Purdon. It was decided to have a film if possible for the April meeting in the church. An invitation was read from Teeswater to come to their church in April to hear Missionary, Ida White. The Synodical program was pas- sed around for all to see. The roll call was answered by 12 with a spring verse. Mrs. Ross thanked the soci- ety for their work on the Day of Prayer. The Ladies Aid meeting was held following the W.M.S. meeting. The rum- mage sale being held by the Young People's Society on March 31 was discussed. The collection was received and dedicated lif`Mrs. Osborne. The hostess served re- freshments. Mrs. Wm.
