Mrs. Philip Steer and Mrs. Wm. Evans have returned home after an enjoyable few weeks in Florida. Margaret Moffat of Tor- onto spent the weekendwith her brother, Graham Moffat of Teeswater. She also called on her sister, Mrs. Mamie Donaldson at the nursing home in Walkerton. She visited with Graham's wife, Edith, who is a patient in Wingham Hospital , after be- ing in London 'hospitai since she broke her hip some weeks ago: Margaret return- ed to her home in Toronto on Sunday. The Whitechurch Young People held their regular meeting Sunday evening. They are planning an even- ing of bowling next Friday and a rummage sale to be held on Saturday, March 31. Sacrament Sunday will be held • next Sunday at the Presbyterian .Church, White- church with Rev. Hugh Nug- ent of Ripley in charge. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Young visited with Mr. and Mrs. Chester Pinnellpf Mild- may last Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wynne of Kitchener spent the weekend at their farm home on concession 8, Kin- loss. Winnie Visser of Wingham is spending a few days of the winter break with Joanne de Boer at her home. Joanne is then going home with Win- nie to spend a few days at her home. - Porcupines are out this spring. One of our neigh- bourhood dogs had to have quills removed from its face last week. Sympathy is extended to relatives of Russell McDon- ald of Blyth who passed away last week. Russell spent his boyhood on his father's farm at Langside, now owned by Clifford Young. The minutes of Unit 1 were read by Mrs. Don McCosh and of Unit 2 were read by Mrs. Reta Irwin. The Business was then dealt with Mrs. Gladys Arnold gave a good report of the Presbyterial, that. several of our members attended the day before in Kincardine United Church. A fine representation of groups 4 and 5 came to hear the guest speaker Shirley Paul of Kin- cardine, She was in- troduced by Mrs. Jim Kit'kpatr ck. Her subject was "10 Days for World Development". She spoke of hopes and needs of the world. There is a need for a simpler life style. Make our church a real sharing, loving, com- munity, welcome new comers. She brought much literature to be distributed . to our members. So ladies be sure and read and make good, use of this literature. "Live More Simply that Others May Simply Live" was Shirley.s closing remark. She was thanked by Mrs. Lloyd Wor- thington. Mrs. Don McTavish read a poem, "My Bible and I" Mrs. Jim Needham read the scripture, John 1-1-18. Mrs. Don McCosh led in Prayer, A delightful duet by Mrs. Don A. MacDonald and her Aunt Mrs. Reta Irwin was enjoyed by all. Grace was sung and lunch was served.by the hostesses of the day.
