• During this past weekend,
March 16; 1.7 and 18, three :
• local figure skaters took .part
in the Western Ontario. Sec-
tiOn Winter Invitational Com-
petition held annual in. Sar-
nia.
Cathy •Chisholm, daughter
of Mr; and Mrs. Grant
ChiSholin of Lucknow, was
successful, in winning a sec-
ond place ribbon in .a flight of
12 highly qualified competi-
tive' skaters. This enabled
Cathy to proceed to the
semi-finals where she placed
• ninth in her flight. This it the
first time a Lucknow skater
has put Lucknow Club on the
Competitive Figure Skating
Charts.•' •
Patricia Barger, daughter
of Mr -and Mrs. Alan Barger
of Ashfield Township. receiv-
ed a yellow \ribbon for fourth
place in her flight,
john Barger -placed ninth
in his flight in the free style.

Dance competition, with his
partner, Aveleigh Cook of
Goderich, he was successful
in placing second and receiv-
ing a silver medal for their
performance. John and Patty
Are members of the *Goderich
Club. Rick Pettit of Goderich
is the professional coach for
(all three.skaters.
These skaters deserve a lot
of credit • for their achieve-
ments this , w.eekend. The, ,
competitors in •this skating
competition were 'from all
over Western Ontario, as far
east as 'Toronto and from the
northern part of the..U.S.A.

Tykes 4-1

On Saturday, March 17th,
the Lucktiow Fleas played
hostto the Watford Tykes.
Lucknow scored the only
goal in the first period and
again outscored the visitors,3
goals to • 1 in the second
period to skate off with a 4 -
win.
Sammy Murray scored '2
goals with Brad. Murray and
David Cayley each scoring
once. Brad De Groote had 2
assists with Jeff Gammie
getting one assist.
The local lads will wind Up.

March 24th and in Myth on
March 31st.

• Secondly, in the chairipion-
ship ganae, • the empty net
goal to end the game was
scored by Chris Collyer and

This' Weeks Atom game
Was against a Wingham
Houseleague team. Although
•
the game was rather one-
sided on the scoreboard, the
boys did log a lot of ice time
and enjoyed the game.
Brian Reavie had a good
game in goal, allowing just
two goals, while the offense
recorded 36' scoring points.
Tim Becker and. Donnie Mc-
Farlan each had 3 goals and 2
assists. Steve De Jong had 1
goal- and,2 assists. Darrell
• Durnin, Freddy Flanagan,
Andy Grazier and Donnie
Murray• each had 1 goal and 1
assist.
To date, the 22 players
have played 49 games with a
record of 19 wins, 10 ties and
20 losses. usually, 12 to 14
boys dress for each game.
