the unit is near Owen Sound,
As it happened, .although
the transformer at Lucknow
was suspected as being
faulty, the problem actually
turned out to be a defective
lightning: arrester. The ar-
restes„failed internally with
no visible signs. The mobile
unit was not required and
hence was not installed.
Meanwhile, approximately
% of the Lucknow
eustemers had power restor-
ed by transferring load to the
station. at Holyrood.
The Councillor mentions
the age of the line, implying
that it was a contributing
factor to the interruption. He
also speculates that poor
maintenance was a reason
for the number of interrtip-
tions experienced .by Luck -
now custemets. Age of
equipment and extent of
maintenance can be factors
in almost all interruptions.
However, a review of the
interruptions to Lucknow dis-
tribution station over the
past 14 months .reveals the
following: there were 10
separate oceurences. Of the 8
interruptions in 1978; 4 were
due to electrical storms dam,
aging equipment; 3 were due
to vehicles hitting.poles; and
1 was prearranged to relo-
cate circuits.
Of the 2 interruptions
which have occurred in 1979,
one was caused by a car
hitting a pole..Thpether was
caused by lightning strikes
occurring it some previous
time which weakened equip-
ment but not enough to show
the defects.
1 should menden that the
Lucknow station was restor-
• ed to service on February 11
with the 'defective lightning
arrester disconnected. This
arrester is to be replaced in
the very near future. In order
to do so there will have to be
a mutually acceptable time
,and dile.- It is likely that by

a few cornmenta in regards to
these three books and more
like. them..
• I have read the three . .of
them- I, would sayi.have an

could, find nothing moral,
