BY VALETTA EMERSON The World Day'. of Prayer was held in the ' United Church March 2. The leaders were Mrs. Lorne Durnin of the U.C.W. and Mrs. Her- man De Bruyn of the Catholic League and Mrs. Don Ross of the W.M.S. The message on Prayer- was given, by Mrs. Harvey Osborne. We are sorry to report that Dawson Craig was moved on Saturday from Wingham Hospital to St. Joseph's Hospital, London for surg- ery. Mrs. Harvey Osborne 'tl 5 k Prayer service held at Whitechurch went to Toronto on Thursday where that evening she and Harvey were interviewed by those wishing preachers. Harvey will know this week. where he will be sent. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Mc- Guire of Kitchener spent the weekend at their home here and on Saturday evening visited with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. On Sunday Mrs. Charles Tiffin, Mr.. and Mrs. Victor Emerson were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin. Mrs, Harvey Osborne, An- na and Laura were visitors last Wednesday with °Miss Mildred McClenaghan. Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Elliott and family were Mr. and Mrs. Don Campbelt 'and Lisa of London, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Agnes Elliott of Wingham who had visited them for a few weeks. Jean McGregor of Hanov- er on Sunday .brought Mrs. Ethel Stewart of Wingham to visit with Mr. ar ti Mrs. Dan Tiffin who recently moved to Whitechurch. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Empey of Auburn visited Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Coultes. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moore, Cindy and Richard were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gary Johnston of Mildmay. Visitors with Mrs. Ella Johnston of Wingham on Saturday were Mr, and Mrs.. Jack Johnston and Donna of St. Pauls. Judy Robinson and her friend of Kitchener visit- ed Saturday and with her grandmoth r, Mrs. Robinson in the Wham Hospital, Jim Johnston of Listowel,, Ruth Ann and Carol. Ann of Toronto. Congratulations to. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Morrison on the arrival of their baby boy, Donald John in Wing- • ham Hospital' on Tuesday, February 6, 1979. Linda Moore—of Ottawa visited a few days with friends in Whitechurch, Lorie Purdon of Listowel spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ar- chie Purdon and Kendra. Mr, and Mrs. Archie Pur - don and Kendra visited Sunday evening with Kathy Purdon of Blyth. Word was received on the weekend that Earl Wilkens, a patient at University Hospit- al, had improved. WHITECHURCH 4-H Lori Jamieson, president of Whitechurch Stylettes op- ened the meeting Saturday forenoon al the home of member, Janet Laidlaw. Mary Moore read the minutes. They discussed the front covers for their record books and the exhibit for Achievement Day. Mrs, Elliott discussed jew- eltery. Mrs. Elliott and Mrs. Purdon displayed samples of gold, silver, copper and pearl jewellery. Mrs. Purdon talked about ' the selection and care of jewellery.
