He and his wife Elizabeth celebrated their 50th wed- ding anniversary on Febru- ary 12th. He was able to visit his wife in the hospital in London that day, and since that time she has been able to return to Wingham Hospital. On February 26th, Joe and • Mrs. Elizabeth Ferguson cel- ebrated their birthdays to- gether. Others celebrating birth- days in February were Alex- ander (Sandy) MacLeod and Edith Joynt. The Lucknow Christian Re- formed Church ladies held their monthly bingo on Feb- ruary 12 and the Kinettes came the following 'evening and had bingo for the residents. Huron County Health Nurses were on hand -to give them their checkup and inoculations, if necessary. On Wednesday, February 28 the senior boys hockey teams playedthe last game of the playoffs. The Flyers, with captain George Alton South lain won the game .7 - 4 against the Flame..,, (captain Jamie Bere). The Flyers thus be- came the senior boys' hockey champions of Brookside School. On Tuesday, February 27 the girls' hockey team played against the Ripley girls' team with a score of 4 - 0 for Brookside. Goals were scor- ed by Wilma Vandervelde (2), Carol Rintoul (1) and Ruth Martin (1). Erring - ton's on February .26th at 7.00 p.m. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Betty Errington. The club name was chosen. to be "The Mad Hatters". A demonstration was giv- en on how °to tie different scarf knots. Each member finally mastered the "Wind- sor Knot", the "Square Knot", the "Ascott" and the "Soft Puff". The fourth meeting began with the roll call which included every girl doing three different scarf ties. The club then talked about purses and what type of purse you prefer including the different styles of purses for various occasions. The topic of shoes as an. accessory was discussed in- cluding the fit, the selection or style of a shoe and the proper care for shoes. of Mrs. Bell and Mrs: Camp- bell entertained by square dancing and presenting a musical drama, All the resid- ents enjoyed the children's entertainnient. The Eastern Star held their Valentine's Card Party at Pinecrest that evening: Rev. Wm. Munshaw held communion for the Protest- ants on Feburary 15. Dr. Little assisted him by serv- ing. In. the afternoon of Feb- ruary 15 the Kinlough Pente- costal Church sang hymns and the minister spoke. The monthly birthday par- ty was held on February 17th. Kairshea Women's In- stitute entertained. Herb, Doug and Tom Clarke along with Harold Campbell played some toe tapping music and Frank MacKenzie, Ena Steer 'and Bonnie Clarke sang. Margar- et. and Marilynne Maclntyre •- 'gave some band music 'ac- companied by Norma on the piano. The Lucknow Catholic Women's League held their ' monthly meeting in the Act- ivity Room on February 19th. On February 21 and 22 the residents were pleased to have a large display of crafts and hobbies in the activity room. Many residents, staff and friends in Lucknow brought their hobbies• and residents were thrilled to have a good turn out of visitors to view them. There were samples of crocheting, knitting, quilt- ing, "needlepoint, sewing, painting, string art, embroid- ery etc. On Tuesday, February 27 the residents had their pan- cakes for dinner to celebrate . Shrove Tuesday and the Roman Catholics held com- munion in the afternoon.
