The theme was Spirit- ual Growth. The service was prepared by students in the Pan-Amer- ican Leadership Course for Women at Mindolo Ecumen- ical ,Foundation, Kitive, Za- mbia. Those reading portions of scripture were Mrs. Frank Maulden, Mrs. Delbert Hed- ley, Mrs. Jack - Barr, Mrs. Glen Haldenby and Mrs. Ronald Thacker. Prayers were offered by Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Mrs. Tom McDonald. In the responsive reading, "Growth in Love", those. taking part were Mrs. John Barr, Miss May Boyle, Mrs. Ronald Thacker, Mrs. Howard Thompson and Mrs. Alex Percy. Mrs. Don Robertson gave a most inspiring address in keeping with the theme. The offering was received by Mrs. Don Reid and Mrs. Alex Percy. Mrs. William MacPherson was organist. .., . Mrs: -::Delbert Hedley' Was• appointed the leader for 1980, when the . service will be ,held in the Anglican Church. ' HOLYROOD W.I. Mrs. Gerald Murray was hostess for the March meet- ing of the Holyrood W.I. with Mrs. Alex Percy presiding.' The minutes of the previ- ous meeting and the financial statement were read by Mrs.. John Scott. Mrs. Alex Percy reported . on the course "Needlepoint for Begin- ners" and also the course on. "Common Sense Nutrition" which was held at Ripley. Mrs. Ellwood Elliott was program convener andave a splendid topic on "What makes a nation great"? The motto which was well prepared by Mrs.. Howard Harris on "Participation is the key to good citizenship" (which was the theme of the meeting) was read by Mrs. Charlie Murray. Mrs. William MacPherson favoured with a. medley of _Irish tunes on the piano. Miss Edna Boyle conducted a "Pat" contest which was followed with an Irish sing song. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Mrs. Lorne Eadie -- will be the April hostess. Glen Haldenby, Jack Barr, Brian Percy and Don Gilles- pie attended, the Western Farm show at London on Wednesday. Bruce and Dick Orr visited in London with Mr. and Mrs. Oswald Rudi during the week. ' Mr. and Mrs. Russell Barr of Thunder Bay, Mr, Donald. Barr of Waterloo and other relatives from here attended the Bushell -Nixon wedding at the Wingharn .Presbyter- ian Church on Friday even- ing. We extend congratu- lations to the newlyweds. Mr. Tom' McFarlan who has spent a. while with his cousin, Bert Bushell at Luck - now, returned home during the .week. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Breckles are enjoying a win- ter holiday in the South. We extend sympathy to the MacMillan family of Mount Forest in the death of Cecil MacMillan.
