in republishing bppk
At a recent meeting of the
Kinloss Kairshea Women's
Institute, the question came
up of republishing Home and
Country Gleanings, a book of
poems by the late. Dean
MacLeod,
Inquiries had been receiv-
ed about it and as there are
no longer any copies other
than in private hands, it was
decided to inquire about the
costs involved. These of
course have increased great-
ly.
It was decided that, as;thi%
involves a large outlay of
funds, the public should be
contacted to gauge the inter-
est before deciding to pro-
ceed.
In an accompanying'adver-
tisement, addresses and,
phone numbers are listed to',
be contacted if you are,
interested and how many
copies etc.
No price has been listed as
yet, but would probably be in
the neighbourhood of $3.00,
although it: could be less if
there was enough interest, as
printing is much more reas
onable in large quantities,
Miss Dean MacLeod was a
native of Kinloss, who was a
long time member of the
Kairshea W.I. She had a fine
talent for writing and wrote
quite a large number of
poems:. In 1966 the original
Home and Country Glean-
ings waspublished. with : the.
co-operation of the Kairshea
W.I. As a life long inhabit-
ant, teacher for several years
and member of South Kin-
loss Church, her poems dealt
primarily with the Lucknow
and Bruce County area.
It you are interested,
please contact as soon as
possible as there will be no.
reprint unless there is a
substantial interest.
