Good turnout for fifth poker rally
St. Helens Snowmobile
Club held 'their 5th, annual
Poker Rally on Sunday, Feb-
ruary 1 lth at St. Helens
Women's Institute Hall.
There were 243 registrants
on approximately 200 snow-
mobiles. Winners of the rally
received cash r(rizes. They
were as follows: Rick Parks,
Dungannon, $79.00; Annabel
Stewart, Dungannon, $73.00;.
Warren Rodgers, Dungan-
non, $67.00; Allan Cranston,
St. Helens, $53.00; Herb
Wilkins, R. 7 Lucknow,
$46.00 (Herb donated his
prize ' to the club); Mel
Ritchie, R. 3 Lucknow,
$40.00; Janet, Schobock,
$33.00; Donald Curran, -Dun-
gannon, $26.00; Jim Bain,
Lucknow, 520.00; and Bart
Beyersbergen, R. 2 Luck -
now, $13,00.
Prizes were awarded for
oldest and ,youngest riders.
Fred Ward won a flashlight
donated by Sproul Electric
for oldest and Chris Eedy
won a toque from McGee
Auto Electric.
The door prizes which
were donated by local busi-
nesses and merchants were

Several families in the area
doubled -up during the hydro
black -out on Saturday night.
After nine hours several
houses were getting very
cold. It was also very frus-
trating for the hockey fans
who were watching the Chal-
lenge Cup series on T.V.
