They want tokeep its country' appeal of an
old general store.
They keep some of the farm supplies like
the sulphur and bulk sunflower seeds in
large bins in'. the front of the old service
counter. They have garden supplies, includ-
ing seeds in bulk and package, bird seed, pet
supplies, farm and lawn supplies and plants.
They' have plants that range in price from
99c to a triple rubber plant for 535; hanging
. plants, potted plants and'floor plants; green
-plants and flowering plants.. They will have
bulbs in the spring. They have brooks on how.
to grow plants and Harrowsmith magazine.
They hope to increase their variety as well,as
grow plants themselves to sell in the store.
They have flower . pots of air sizes,
including ceramic pots they sell clinYconsign-
ment from a local crafter.
They have garden. tools and a garden
planter which will assist you, plant your
.gardeh uniformly in. neat rowswith seeds'
placed evenly apart.
The girls are looking forward to the
opening of their ice cream parlour next door
where Cowan's grocery store used! to be.
They plan to open the parlour in time for the,.
spring• break .in March.
They will .be scooping 16 flavours of ice
creanr'atid hoiie••trr recreate the nostalgia of
the Saturday evening walk'down town for an
ice cream cone.
'The girls have had fun together as friends
and through .working together on Kinette
projects. They're looking forward.to their
business venture and. like Diane commented,
"Can you believe what 's going to be like,
with the three of us .:in this placer'

Mr Ackertis not convinced that volun
teers would bethe answer to,the problem the
parents, see ui the Hillcrest situation:
"In certain cases volunteers would work, •
very well; said Mr. Ackert, "but in
general, I cannot; see it working." The needs
of the ..classroom and the abilities .of 'the
volunteers would be difficult to administer,
he said:
"L,d on't feel volunteers in the classroom

can be administered effectively," he ~added.
Mr. Ackert said. the board has inquired of
the' teachers :concerning their ':opinion of
volunteers assisting in the classroomAnd the
board has gotten negative feedback from the
teachers on the subject,
