On Saturday, January 27
was the annual Ripley Lions
Midget hockey tournament.
Lucknow started the day at
8.00 am, against, Teeswater.
After a slow start because
• of the early hour of the day,
Lucknow gbt rolling and won
7 - 2. -
Three stars "were picked
after each -game and each
• received a medallion. Rep-

orge Alton and Kent Alton.

assists with singles going to

Pritchard.
Glen Raynard received a
trophy for the best player of
the game award.

wing and Al Rivett at centre.
Scoring the bulk of the
points were Steve Simpson
and Ed Davidson • with 6
points, Steve ' MacPherson,
Paul Hamilton and Al Rivett
with .5 points, and Kevin
Clarke and Paul Finlay with 4
points.
The team was, presented
with the Ripley.Lions Cham-
pionship trophy • and each
player received an individual
trophy and Lions crest;' -
A special thank you to the
Ripley Lions Club for their
hospitality and the delicious
roast beef meals they suppli-
ed.

On January 24 the Luck -
now Midgets started a busy
week with an exhibition
game at Walkerton. Illness
made the squad short hand-
ed but they were still able to
come out on top 9 7 with
straight goals in the third
period.
Walkerton is the fastest
skating team the locals have
met this year but they were
able to prove themselves
equal to the 'test. Steve
MacPherson, Paul Hamilton
and ,Steve Simpson each got
4 points; Ed Davidson, Larry
MacPherson, Kent Alton 2
points each and AlRivett and
Doug Dorscht with single
goals.

On Jahuary 29 Lucknow
blew Mildmay out of the rink
by a score of 14 - 1. This was
their 5th straight win in 1
week.
• Scoring for Lucknow were
Mike Dennis with 3, Paul.
Hamilton and Doug Dorscht
and Al Rivett with 2 each, Ed
Davidson, Steve MacPher-
son, Brad Humphrey, Larry
MacPherson, $teve Simpson
with 1 each.
