The message derived from
this passage was the very
practical one of living a day
at a time.
In the afternoon the theme
of the meeting was "Looking
Ahead". What is this coming
year? --- a door to explore
fields for usefulness, One
who does God's work gets
God's pay.
Mrs. Jean Barr Of Kin -
lough Auxiliary- Wot in
charge of the CleVotional
period, and built her mes-
sage around a hymn, written
by Fosdick, who was, contem-
porary to many of us. She
presented her subject matter
in an unusual and interesting ,
fashion,, reading a short sel-
Wit* of the bible and then
having everyone sing a vetrAP
Of the hytim, and so on,
ending with prayer. The
theme was "A Message for
the World Today".
Miss Ida White, who has
completed 25 years of oyer -
seas . service as a medical
missionary, was the guest
speaker. She is a graduate of.
Alexandra and. Marine .Hos-
pital School of • Nursing in

Miss' White stressed. the
importance of the work done
by the missionaries sent out
and maintained by the
W.M.S.; doctors who have
been trained in their hospit-
4s; teachers graduated from
• their schools; nurses trained
and babies whose lives have
been saved and are now con-
tribtiting in meaningful ways
to die Christian community
and winning others for
Christ. The door. is closing
for the foreign missionary to
India, but the many converts,
who •are often • in grave
,danger for -their faith, are
ready . to .carry on in the
service of the Master.
Miss 'White stressed the
need for uS .to support them
and also the Christians in
Taiwan with our prayers:
T ir need is great and the
oly Spirit is working might -
in both places opening the
•hearts of the people. At the
sametime the, forces.against
the Christians are increasing
And becoming more severe.
_Miss White said, "Let us not
