BEI,GRAVE—The Women's
Institute met on Thursday after-
noon in the community rooms
with Mrs. Stanley Cook presid-
ing. Donations of $15.00 to
the Children's Aid Society and
$10.00 to Ontario Hospital were
made,
A short course, "Baking with
Yeast" will be held at the home
of Mrs. Herson Irwin November
28 and 29.
The public relations meet-
ing was led by Mrs. Garner
Nicholson, convener. The roll
call was answered by a way to
be friendly to a neighbour or
newcomer. Mrs. Leslie Bolt
read poems, "To Be a Neigh-
bour," "My Friend", and "It's
a Beautiful World".
Mrs. Stanley Cook reported
on the area convention. Mrs.
Colelough, district presi-
dent, was guest speaker,
Mrs, Clarence Hanna gave
an account of the 4-ti Achieve-
ment Day on bedroom access-
ories. Misses Maxine and Mar-
jory Procter sang, accompanied
by Mrs, George Procter, "Ler
the Sunshine In," and "Go Tell
It on the Mountain". Commu-
nity singing was enjoyed.
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Clarke Johnston, Mrs, Stanley
Cook and Mrs. Stanley Black.
During the lunch hour Mrs.
John Gnay and Miss Mary Ellen
Taylor presented the Institute
with aluminum trays from the
C. G. I. T. members,

to Arena Board
BELMORE—The November
meeting of the Women's Insti-
tute was held on Tuesday of
last week in the Institute Hall.
This was "curator's meeting"
and Mrs, David Eadie was the
convener, She gave a report of
the area convention held in
Markdale the end of October.
The members are now at
work, bringing up-to-date the
Tweedsmuir History--histories
of the various farms and fami-
lies in the area. The history
was on display at this meeting.
Mrs. Norman Newans gave
the history of Belmore School.
Roll call was "your wedding
dress or something antique";
about five or six displayed their
wedding dresses. Mrs. Oscar
Kieffer spoke on the motto,
"Out of the past the future
grows, You can't drive into the
future looking into a rear-view
mirror, but occasionally we
must take a glance at our an-
cestral background".
Dortng the business, it was
decided To donate $260,00 to
the 13eimore Arena Board, The
group won a $20,.00 prize at
one of the summer centennial
parades, and it was decided to
donate half of this to Mr,. and
Mrs. Ross McKague for the use
of their truck, Members also
sent money fora birthday cake
to the Institute's adopted boy,
Graham Sternack of Orillia,
who celebrates his big day in
November.
