The following letter was
sent to us by a person who at-
tended our Remembrance Day
service:
" A commemoration service
was held at East Wawanosh Pub-
lic School, on Friday, Nov. 10,
1967. The pupils of Grade 7
had been selected to conduct
the service honouring the men
who gave their lives in two
World Wars, 1914-13 and 1939-
45.
" All the pupils of the school
with their teachers moved into
the auditorium. Grade 7 was
on the platform with curtains

occasion and under his direc-

lined up in front of the cur-
tains., each one playing an in-
dividual role, such as Marilyn
Robertson did reciting "In Flan-
ders Fields"; Marilyn Robertson
and it area Galbraith played
the piano and under their dir-
ection pupils sang appropriate
hvrnr.s for the occasion. Mel-.
ante Sprunir laid a wreath at
the foot of a cross that had
been placed in front of the
platform, then with everyone
standing at attention, Last Post
was sounded followed by two
minutes' silence and Reveille.
The children then moved very
quietly and orderly back to
their respective classrooms.
"'During part of the service
Rev. Roberts of Belgrave spoke
to the children on Remember-
ing. Rev. Roberts who came
from Wales, was there during
the war 1939-45. He conduct-
ed services in Churches in the
Welsh Valleys prior to coming
to Canada this year.
"The walls of the auditori-
um had been decorated suit-
ably for the occasion by the
pupils of Grade 7.
"If all Remembrance Day
services were conducted as well
as the above it would have a
far greater signifigance to the
people of Canada and honour
to the men who laid down their
lives. Credit should be given
to the principal and teachers
who are teaching these child-
ren every day.
"If the parents of the child-
ren could attend even one of
these services it would give
them a greater concept of what
the teachers are doing in the
