"I enjoy my work immense-
ly" said Dr. A, C. Forrest, edi-
tor of The United Church Ob-
server, When addressing the
Bruce Presbytery of the United
Church of Canada meeting at
St. John's Church, Wiarton.
In spite of periodic criti-
cism of the church's paper, and
of some of its articles, Dr. For-
rest is not dismayed. As a
church paper it is now interest-
ing those outside the church as
well as those within. "Let the
people have the facts and they
will sort them out," said Dr.
Forrest.
Of great interest to the mem-
bers of Presbytery was a display
board depicting pictures of all
but five of the United churches
in Bruce Presbytery. The dis-
play bore the caption "Ye Shall
Be My Witness" and was ar-
ranged by Miss Winnifred War-
ren of Walkerton.
Mission festivals are to tell
of the church's work around the
world to people of Bruce Pres-
bytery. They will be held at
Walkerton, Sunday, May 7,
2.30 p. m. , at Wiarton, Mon-
day, May 8, 2.30 and 7.30
p.m. and at Paisley, Tuesday,
May 9, 8 p.m. The respective
themes of the Mission festivals
will be "Get With The Action",
"The Mission of The Church in
The World" and "Those Who
Care - Dare".

It's as simple as it is effective: you've got to EARN
their confidence.
More than any other thing, the attitude that typifies lady
motorists is a tendency to caution and hesitancy in this
male-dominated industry.
Women buyers today, according to recent marketing re-
search, are becoming more expert in automotive knowledge
than previously. But they are on the defensive in their
buying habits and react very adversely to so-called "high
pressure" selling.
Women love to shop and they shop more carefully than
men.
Women are more budget-conscious than men and are
generally better credit risks. They are more safety con-
scious also and show little interest in horsepower and high
performance engines. Their choice of car varies with their
age and marital status but they universally prefer power
steering, brakes and automatic transmissions.
' The studies show women understand and appreciate
their new car warranty more than men and are more punc-
tual in keeping up warranty dates. As a result, they usually
keep their cars in better condition.
Lastly, women are more loyal to a dealer who has treat-
ed them fairly and honestly, though it may have taken them
longer to become "sold" in the first place. For this reason,
they often make better buys because they are more likely
to consider service and integrity as well as price. See you
next Thursday.
