THE NEW EAST WAWANOSH PUBLIC SCHOOL was opened on Tuesday
morning to some 230 pupils from the north part of Morris and East
Wawanosh Townships. Other childeen from the amalgamated areas are

Willowdale.
Miss Chureb Tompkins spent
the Christmas vacation at the
home of her grandmother, Mrs.
David Geiger of Listowel.
Mrs. James Shera spent a
few days at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Wesley Haugh of
Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Tern-
pleman and family, Mr. Fred
Coulter and Mr. Clifton Coul-
ter were Christmas guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Coulter of
Kitchener.
Rev, and Mrs. Harry Jenn-
ings of Huntingford and Miss
Edna Lawrence of Toronto were
Christmas visitors at the home
of Mrs. Charles Lawrence.

Presbyterian Church C.O.C.
and their mothers and leaders,
Mrs. Hugh Simpson and Mrs.
Earl Caslick, entertained the
United Church Messengers and
their leader, Mrs. Dave Gibb.
Darlene Simpson was pianist
for the meeting. The call to
worship, "You have a Friend",
was given by Mrs. Hugh Simp-
son. "Joy to the World" was
sung and the Lord's prayer re-
peated. Kathy Purdon welcom-
ed all with a recitation.
The Scripture was read by
Jimmie DeBoer and Cecil De-
Boer led in prayer. The offer-
ing was received by Robert
Watt and the offertory prayer
was given by Doris Fisher.
Ruth Elliott gave a piano
solo, "Away in a Manger", and
a reading, "Far Away in Beth-
lehem". Cecil DeBoer, Paul
Elliott and Murray Simpson
sang "Away in a Manger" . Mrs.
Victor Emerson gave a reading,
"It's OK Son, Everybody Does
It" in which Johnny witnessed
parents and relatives cheating
from the time he was six to 19.
When he cheated at school at
the age of 19 the same people
were horrified and announced

that they couldn't stand a kid
who would cheat,
Mrs. Emerson then told the
story of Bells, having on dis-
play a school bell, hand bell,
shaft bells, back bells, team
bells, neck yoke bells, rhythm
band bells, cow bells :A n d mel-
ody bells. She said the only
brass factory in Canada is at
Breslau, Ontario, operated by
Carl and Herwarth Stoermer.
The youngest children present
then rang the bells as everyone
sang Jingle Bells. Mrs. Emer-
son was thanked by Mrs. Simp-
son for her humorous talk and
presented with a gift by Lori
Purdon.
Irene DeBoer gave a reading,
"Far Away in Bethlehem". An-
other carol was sung and. Mur-
ray Simpson closed the meeting
with prayer.
Many games were enjoyed
by the children, supervised by
Mrs. Donald Watt who had
prizes for the winners. Lunch
and candy were served by the
C.O.C. and helpers.
After lunch the children
gathered around and examined
and rang the bells. Many had
never seen bells of these types
before.

Mr. and Mrs. T. L. McIn-
nes accompanied Mr. John Mc-
Innes of Holyrood, Mr. George
McInnes of Lucknow and Mr.
John McInnes, Bluevale to God-
erich Monday where they at-
tended the funeral of the late
Mrs. Alex. Butler in the Pres-
byterian Church. Mrs. Butler
was Mr. T. L. McInnes' sister.
New Year's guests at the
home ,of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Bennettl were Mr. and Mrs.Geo,
Snider and family, and Mrs.
Miltod Snider of Elmira, Mr.
and Mrs. Wm. Willoughby of
Molesworth, Mr. and Mrs. Ken
Willoughby and Terry of Wrox-
eter and Mrs. R. T. Bennett.
Miss Joanne Strong has re-
turned from Vancouver and
spent-the holidays-with Mrs.
John Strong.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Edgar
have moved to their new home
on Princess Street, in the vil-
lage.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Currie
and family of Wingham, Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Strong and Pau-
la, Guelph were New Year's
guests of Mrs. John Strong.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Stev-
ens of Willowdale were Christ-
mas guests at the home of Mrs.
A. L. Stephens.
Mr. and Mrs. Melville Bee-
croft and family of Otterville,
Mrs. Eccles Dow, Nelson and

Boxing Day guests at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Hector Hamil-

Rev. H. D. Jenkins flew to
New York City and spent a few
days with relatives.

Miss Donna Mae Beatty, Tor
onto, is spending a few days
with Miss Lynda Johnston. Mr.

family spent New Year's Day
with Mrs. Herbert Berlett of
Listowel.
Mr. John Ford of Harriston,
Mr. Herbert Collins of Ford-
wich and Mrs. Sanford Zimmer-
man were New Year's guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Zimmer-
man.
Mrs. Harry Templeman, Su-
san and Kenneth visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Jean Andari of
Clinton on Sunday.

home and fractured her left
arm last week.

The Fordwich Branch of the
Canadian Bible Society made a
remittance of $186.60 to the
Toronto office after the 1966
canvass. The executive of the
local branch thank all contribu-
tors and canvassers who made
this possible.
